What a genuine good person she was. One of my earliest memories is of being in 1st grade in Texas. I would walk to school and if the morning was particularly cold for some reason sound carried farther. The high school marching band was practicing Georgie Girl and even though they were several miles away I heard it. I loved that song so my little 6 year old self be-bopped her way to school singing along with the music. A little skinny redhead in a hand-me-down coat singing Georgie Girl. Such a sweet memory. Thank you Judith for your lovely voice…..and you weren’t ugly! RIP sweet lady.

Judith may have disappointed fans of The Seekers when she left the group in 1968. But her solo career has not disappointed anyone. And her reunions with The Seekers have been phenomenal. Her voice is that of an angel. God sent her to earth to give us a sample of what the heaven will be. And her CD "The Hottest Band in Town" is out of this world. She sings as though she grew up in New Orleans and learned at the knee of the great jazz artists. I am constantly awed by her talent. Some of her songs actually bring tears of joy to my eyes. Talent, beauty, class all rolled into a frame of 5-feet-2. I am so sorry I never saw her in concert, but being here in the USA was a big disadvantage. Judith also has me in awe because of her spirituality and positive attitude despite some severe challenges and the loss of her beloved Ron. I wish I could give her and hug and tell her how much I admire her.

Yes, I was impressed by her questions---although at times, I suspect the editor clipped seconds that would have enhanced her style..... Trying to squeeze in the questions to make the commercials.... Mmmm? The pause of reflection was not there after Judith answered.... it just went straight to the next question. Which showed poor empathy from the production staff. (The advertisement can wait... For heavens sake.)

A wonderfully uplifting interview! I can't help think as an American in my fifties, that I missed something awfully special musically when The Seekers were top of the chart. (What has become of popular music today?) In her closing remarks, Judith Durham reinforces the value of music's ability to inspire. I want to know more about this person.
@paulminervino82987 жыл бұрын
I'm 69 but had remembered "I'll Never Find Another You" from high school. I loved the song but it wasn't my kind of music or so I thought. Unless you saw these artists on the Ed Sullivan Show or American Bandstand, you had no idea what they looked like. I didn't know Judith's name or that she was that darling to look at. She just has a "way" about her that is too pleasant to not be known to a younger generation. I started sniffing around on KZbin and have become addicted to watching her the last ten days. I never thought I'd become entranced with a song like "Morningtown Ride", but I keep playing that and about 8 others over and over. That clear, honest voice rings out like no one else's. In this mean age we now live in where songs and movies are "hate mommy, kill daddy", demons, zombies, etc., I wonder if she/The Seekers might be willing to come back and re-introduce a kinder, gentler genre like this and see how it goes? Anyone have any thoughts? Meanwhile, consider reading 1 Timothy 3: 1-5 in the New Testament and see if this does not accurately describe what we are seeing all around us.
