This movie was ridiculously rudimentary and unrealistic 😂 It was literally released at a time after HIV treatment was a thing, hell there were 100k walking around with it & looking perfectly healthy in Atlanta alone! At the end of it all if you're unhappy in your marriage speak with you spouse, repeatedly. If you're spouse is unwilling to acknowledge the issues within the marriage & dismiss your feelings, just leave. Don't concern yourself with the longevity of the relationship or what people will think. The longevity is irrelevant when someone is unwilling to do the work within the relationship to repair it. Other people's opinions about your relationship is irrelevant because you're not married to them. Just leave. Legally sperate or divorce

@@lenanash798 I completely agree with you. Brice and Judith got married way too young. You have to bare in my mind that Judith grow up very sheltered. It was just her and her mother, her mother was extremely religious, always going to church so that's all Judith ever really. She didn't know life outside of Brice and her mother. Judith didn't have the experiences that normal ppl did. So when she got a taste of Harley's world, she went wild. Neither Brice nor Judith were ready for marriage. Judith was bored in her marriage but that still isn't grounds for cheating. If Judith was bored, she needed to express that to Brice, this is where the communication comes in like you said. Brice was also very unsupportive of her dreams. Judith wanted to open up her own marriage counseling business but Brice kept on telling her no, to wait until they are more financially secure. Brice also forgot her birthday and that pushed her away even more. In spite of all of this, Judith is still majorly wrong.

Although I feel bad for Judith’s character I think TP wanted to convey to the audience to be cautious of the lure of temptations because it can result in disastrous consequences. Instead of giving us the Hollywood forgive and forget fairytale he wanted the audience to understand that when you choose the acts of betrayal which only serve to satisfy one’s own desires although you might be forgiven by a partner it does not mean you will remain with the one that you betrayed. I think we as woman feel A type of way with this movie because Judith the wife was the adulterer and not her husband. Where usually it is the husband who is the cheater. But despite the fact that Judith remained HIV and lonely she was forgiven by her husband and she accepted accountability for her actions hence Judith’s circle of betrayal and forgiveness was full circle.

Uh oh! Looks like some folks took this the wrong way. In tp media, husbands do much worse to their wives and don't go out bad like this. At least charles would eventually get to live a healthy life. Mike was dying of cancer, but wouldn't have to live with it forever. The punishment is a cautionary tale that simultaneously seems rooted in misogyny

Both were wrong but bringing his wrongs up in the same space as her wrongs suggests comparison and the two do not compare at all. Its like saying i blew up his car because he keeps forgetting to bring home what im asking from the store. I know thats not what they are saying its just bringing up mistakes both of them did in the same conversation without making the distinct clarification that we are talking about two separate mistakes that do not compare suggests comparison. Though i do agree that the point of origin of judiths unraveling was her man taking her for granted. BUT all marriage counselors and people who have successful relationships know thats when you soeak up and talk your talk to your person and they should make it up and change. Not go on a cheating spree and destory the relationship the two dont compare or go together at all.

This movie had such a good message and moral lesson. And it was good to see him, his wife and child in the pharmacy, very wholesome, where he's in a healthy good relationship, which is what he deserved after what he had to go through. I think people were just upset over the ending, because the so-called victim was a woman. Overall, this was a very good movie.

I totally disagree with you, I don’t even like Tyler Perry, but I love the message in this movie mainly being one bad decision can ruin your life. you falling into temptation, no matter what the situation is, is never a good thing. Technically, she got the ark that she wanted by still being able to open up her own business as a marriage counselor, even though you can clearly see aids has definitely taken a toll on her. he definitely has to share some of the blame for the downfall of the marriage, but he admitted that already to Brandy before finding out about the man having aids that’s why he was crying because he felt like it was his fault. Brandy was telling him that it wasn’t. he did learn from his mistakes. People today are still not being able to reach or have a chance at their arc or peak potential because of mistakes and decisions they’ve made wow young that is reality. That is the message that is being shown in this movie

Yes I think people intentionally be oblivious to the message of this movie because there’s a woman doing the wrong doing so they try to justify her behavior. But I feel like if the genders were reversed and Bryce was cheating on Judith and he caught HIV they would’ve been like he deserved it.

I think the misconception of HIV/AIDS is due to changing society mindset. Judith could be living a bountiful life whether being HIV. She could still have healthy children, a healthy relationship. Educating all communities is that HIV/AIDS is not a death title. As long as a person takes their meds and be safe for themselves and for others. Shame on Tyler Perry for setting this message out.

I think people are missing the real problem here... yes, she cheated and that was wrong. But, she knew Harley was sleeping around, she confronted him at his house after the park incident. At the beginning of the movie he said that he was "in between relationships". Then, why didn't she used protection, she could easily gave HIV to Bryce. I'm a Christian, I don't agree with cheating under any circumstances, but if someone decides they are going to do it at least take precautions. People keep saying Tyler pushed too far bay including HIV. I don't see a problem here, that's a real disease, one of the most common STD. Over 1 million people have it just in the USA... I don't see the problem about a movie who is reminding people to be careful who they are sleeping with and the decisions they make in life.
