This is great. Thanks. It would be awesome if you could show us some concepts or tips on how to fight righties with their left foot forward as a righty. That stance gives them an advantage because their weak side is closer to my strong side so catching the sleeve or putting the hand on the lapel is much easier for them.

Thanks for the feed back, I'll try to get that one out by the end of the week.

Have you mentioned in any of your videos the gym conditioning or workout a regular Judoka would have to do to get better? Not asking for a top level olympian of insanity workouts but just for a regular guy that wants to get better at Judo.

Any tips on after doing Ouchi o Kouchi on preventing closed guard?

Thanks Travis! What's a good counter for that over shoulder throw?
@TravisStevensgrappling6 жыл бұрын
That all depends on the entry and how your opponents body and yours fit together. Everything in stand up changes based on different opponents.

@@TravisStevensgrappling I asked friend who is a collegiate wrestler as well how he would attack a judo player and we've been working on attacking the elbow and armpit. Basically when someone reaches for a grip while standing we attack the elbow and try to run it or get in a clinch. I've had mixed results with it. What do you think about this approach?
@jongrappler2876 жыл бұрын
i get stuck looking for a perfect entry instead of just going for a hail mary throw

Jon Grappler you want to feel like your 70% of the way there then focus on making or forcing the rest of it. You won’t score but it will force your opponent to open up

High crotch with the gi... like it. Requires explosion to break grips.
