I know it was said multiple times, but its just not nice to watch someone lose because he wants to throw. I think Kentoku had the better Judo throught the day and he deserved the Gold medal. Btw very dominante Performance by Fukuda

I like the idea about adding more time for any drop throw attempts. Even other throws like kata garuma, tomeonage and sumi gaeshi can be used to kill time.

It's the third time Oi and Nosho face each other in a final this year. 春高 -> Nosho won by Wazari (Seoi nage) インターハイ -> Oi won by Wazari (Ouchigari) And now Oi won by shido in the Juniors WC. Also, Fukuchi and Kentoku fought in the final of the All Japan Juniors this year, Fukuchi won by Wazari (Seoi Nage). It's unfortunate that it was decided by head diving this time around.

were people getting hurt so often that they had to change the head dive rule to what it is currently? - I would understand if many people were getting hurt in the past but that did not seem to be the case.

not at all. in twenty years of elite judo I never saw one serious injury through diving. I understand the old rules which penalized really excessive planting on top of the head, but it has gotten completely ridiculous

Yang in 60 kg is the reigning cadet world champion. What happened to the Fukuda in 66 who has the same name?

He didn't participate in the All Japan Juniors this year, so he wasn't selected. But he's competing in the All Japan University Championships this weekend and probably the Kodokan in November.
