Here are the TOP 10 judoka of 2019 based on the IJF point system. I adapted the system by adding three extra criteria. #1. The judoka must've won gold at the World Championships or Masters. #2. Zero points were given for 5th place finishes. #3 -500 points for placing less than 5th. This is because the best judoka should almost never lose and be extremely consistent, but there are many judoka who compete often and have many more points than ONO Shohei for example, but are they a better judoka than him? I think not. Let me know what you think of this system!

Nice video as always! It would be nice to see judo highlights of this year with some famous song. In 2016 one dude made a judo highlights video with "Careless whispers" song used as the soundtrack to it and that was very cool. You may do something similar.

Thank u for putting isr ranked 1. But why is sagi muki ranked first can you explain to me?
@JudoHighlights2015
@JudoHighlights2015 4 жыл бұрын
Because Sagi Muki has scored the most points under the IJF tournaments. He's gained over 6000 points which is more than any judoka this year. An outstanding year for Sagi Muki.

No way, Ono, Shohei is the first 1, that guy you put in first is clearly cus you are inlove for him.. nothing is like a Japonese fighting Judô... and another thing... no one brazilian make to the top? are you kidding? the second most sucessfully country in the world on Judô, and no one make to top 10... is clearly bullshit..

Don't you think your list would be more realistic if it was in reverse? You don't even have Abe or Takato, who beat Nagayama out of the 60kg Olympic spot. If I was going to add Japanese judoka, my list would be Ono, Maruyama, Takato, Abe, Nagayama, Hashimoto, who also got beat out by Ono for an Olympic spot.
@JudoHighlights2015
@JudoHighlights2015 4 жыл бұрын
First of all Abe is -66 and Nagayama and Takato are -60. You should read the description for how I ranked each judoka
@ichichu
@ichichu 4 жыл бұрын
Judo Highlights I know that, so if you read my comment more carefully I didn’t say Abe was in the same weight class. That is signified by the comma after Takato. The reference about weight class was only related to Takato.
@JudoHighlights2015
@JudoHighlights2015 4 жыл бұрын
Sorry that’s an ambiguous comma. Could be read either way. Did you read how I made these rankings?
@ichichu
@ichichu 4 жыл бұрын
@@JudoHighlights2015 I did, but you asked what the thought so I was just asking if you think it's more realistic if your ranking was reversed, because as you know most of the Japanese team only participates in about half of the tournaments. I'm bias towards head to head matches, because point systems doomed me when I was competing in the 80's, as I couldn't afford to travel the country let alone internationally to gain points to possibly qualify for the US national team, but I knew I was top 3 in my weight class. One tournament a year isn't going to cut it, but that is all my family could do. Scarred for life, I guess.
@JudoHighlights2015
@JudoHighlights2015 4 жыл бұрын
Wasn’t meant to be I guess. We’re all born with certain merits and demerits to our own lives, just have to move on. I agree head to head is important, so I minus points for losses, but I think I should change the weighting of that this year. Ono for example never lost, but only competed in two competitions
