One of the all time greatest voices, poignant and clear, nobody can sing quite like the angelic Ms Collins...

Another of my top ten Muppet Show guest star moments. I find this sequence to be haunting, yet beautiful. The muppets were experts in creating scenes that evoked feelings like that.

Definitely. And I loved the little interaction where the bat asks her to find out what the chorus means and she says she will.

This is one of my favorite songs from the Muppet Show. The bat, woodpecker and owl are all cute! That owl is a wooden prop puppet that was also used in an animal shelter skit on this show.

Probably one of the best songs they did on the Muppet Show.

For those who would like to skip the intro, the song starts at 0:54. Hope it helps! ^_^

I preferred this tune and rhythm of the song rather than the original. Although I wish they sang the full song and lyrics

What *made* the Muppets skits was that the hosts always sold it. They always acted liked they were performing opposite actual pigs/frogs/ etcetera. 👍🏻

Was this originally a Peter, Paul, & Mary song?
@Amp389lanG7 жыл бұрын
No, this is an English folk song, and supposedly the first American record of it was Burl Ives' version recorded for "Okeh" records in the 40's-many artists have sung it including a variation by Peter, Paul and Mary on their "Peter, Paul, and Mommy LP".
