When I saw Judy in person in Toronto near the end of the Carniege Hall tour the most outstanding song for me was "I Can't Give You Anything But. Love." 3200 people and you could have heard a pin drop they were paying such rapt attention to that incredible force of nature on stage in front of them.

Barbra has her own brilliance. Comparing them is like comparing a Picasso to a Renoir.

Frank and Dean were so great they were already on another planet ... and then Judy swags into the mix and she is so great she’s in another galaxy. Will we ever see talent like these three legends again? Not likely.

So much for the musical taste of children. When I was young my parents would listen to these amazing people all the time and I couldn’t stand them. They were old! Today I can’t get enough of them. I’m so glad I had the sense to re-discover them.

Starting at about 5:10 when the director lingers on her profile, I melt. Time stands still and I’m helplessly spellbound to her talent. Gone for 50 years now - never forgotten as long as people have ears to hear and a heart to feel.

Holy Shite! The closing number is sooo tight! Just the way these 3 fed and respond to each other is special to see. They are all Masters of Their Craft and know well who they are working with. It is wonderful to see. These people believed in the product they sold because it was all of who they were. They will always be relevant. Their work will always hold up.

Angela Lansbury sarcastically said of working with Judy on a movie called The Harvey Girls, that she never came to work until 10:00 a.m., and it was just Judy being Judy. What I just saw was JUDY BEING JUDY, AND THAT AIN'T BAD. OH YES, SOMETHING LANSBURY FORGOT WAS JUDY WAS PREGNANT WITH LIZA, THAT COULD POSSIBLY THE REASON SHE WAS ALLOWED TO COME IN LATE. This Lansbury story has nothing to do with the song by Dean and Frank and Judy, when I said Judy being Judy I thought about lansbury when she.said that. JUDY BEING JUDY WITH DEAN AND FRANK IS NOT A BAD THING AT ALL. EXCEPT MAYBE TO LANSBURY.

Judy was without question one of the top three voices of the 20th century and sadly one of its most tragic figures.

She absolutely hated being called a tragic figure. She said she had some marvelous times in her life and laughed a lot. I've had a tremendous amount of success, I have 3 marvelous children who love me, many wonderful friends who care, and the greatest fans in the World. Yes, I've had some low times, but haven't we all? I think the lady makes a good point.

Judy was the greatest all time, period, no question. She touched her audience, like no one else could. She put every ounce of her being in her songs. And there wasn't any kind of song she couldn't and wouldn't sing. I remember the first time I heard her version of Purple People Eater, the audience went berserk. If some of you fans haven't heard it, pull it up on your computer or phone. She puts everything she got into every song she sings.

Frank was really unbelievable. Suddenly we heard him singing "somebody eeeelllse" and froze in the cold. It seems for a second that he will be out of tune, but we finally realized that it was just a joke that he played with his voice. He leaves that musical note with perfect dignity. Taking back control and driving away the cold of our fears. The song goes on full of swing.

Garland didn’t sing a song, she acted it. What she could project with her eyes was as important as that voice. Perhaps that is why I’ve never found her recordings as satisfying as watching clips like this.

@NFitalianGuy With raw humanity and emotion she could play her instrument like a skilled pianist has complete control over his Steinway. It was also her willpower and drive, as I don't think she could have been as good if she didn't work her ass of too. That combination of talent and work ethic is what makes a star. And she is THE star. Whenever I hear people bashing Americans, I just laugh and say "Judy was American, and she was the greatest." Hehe

@StefanieLovesJonas When this appeared on CBS back in September 1962 it was called The Judy Garland Show. When this came out on VHS/DVD they renamed it "Judy Frank and Dean: Once in a lifetime" When this first aired in 1962 it was the highest rated show of the week. The following year is when TJGS became a weekly series. In 1962, Judy was still riding high from her Carnegie Hall appearance and it still was on Billboard charts.. Seems when Judy is heavier her voice is more richer. :)

I'm wondering why the song that starts this video is not mentioned in the info. "The One I Love( Belongs To Somebody Else)" is a great Isham Jones/Gus Kahn song they published in 1924. It's sung quite well by Doris Day in "I'll See You in My Dreams," a movie loosely based on Gus Kahn's life.

I'm curious about the intro that Judy sings on "I Can't Give You Anything But Love." I have quite a few copies of old sheet music with a different intro/verse written by Dorothy Fields. I wonder if these lyrics were written especially for Judy or if they go with another song. Here are the words that Dorothy Fields wrote: Gee, but it's tough to be broke, kid, It's not a joke, kid, it's a curse. My luck is changing, it's gotten, From something rotten, To something worse. Who knows some day I will win too, I'll begin to reach my prime. Now though, I see what our end is, All I can spend is just my time. (There is an additional verse, rarely recorded)

@NFitalianGuy true. It had to do with weight and hormones. She had Lorna, the hormonal changes after pregnancy deepened her voice. the difference from Easter Parade to A star is born is phenomenal. I hate to mention it but I know it had to do with periods when she was med free. She was heavier, she was off those damn pills and was sleeping and eating well. Love and children with Sid, despite their quarrels, kept her going. Sid's business skill gave her the chance to shine in A Star Is Born.

Examine the current state of the world. 2 Timothy 4:1-5 states "You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. People will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!" Jesus is coming back. Are you ready?
