I get so angry when I think how CBS did everything they could to destroy her show. This was JUDY GARLAND! You don't cancel the most talented woman ever to set foot on a stage.

Can you imagine how powerful this number would have been as the series closer had they done a montage of all the great moments in the previous episodes? I know we all are mad at CBS for not giving her a second season - but at least they preserved on excellent tape this burst of Garland creativity. It always amuses me when people say that she was unreliable. Think of the body of work this woman has left behind - unsurpassed, excellent work!

Every fiber of her soul & being is poured in to this stunning & magnificent performance showing Judy is truly the greatest performer of this past century & beyond...why "The Judy Garland Show" didn't continue confused me as a teen and still to this day feel had it continued Judy would have been around more years & what a loss this magical lady was gone too soon but leaves behind wondrous gems like "Here's TO Us" for all to savor and enjoy over and over...Bravo Judy, love you & RIP

lesser mortals would have collapsed under the pressure and heartbreak she must have been feeling knowing the show hadn't worked (through no fault of her own) Judy didnt collapse - she came out and gave a performance up to her usual staggering standards - she was a miracle

I have read about this show. How she was not able to finish it. But then here she is totally on top of her game. Simply amazing. Yet, so sad what the next years would bring.

How cute she had Milk on hand to give to her Kids so they could join and toast Judy and her fans! A great clip! Judy will always be Larger than life and her Legend will never die, not as long as we have her Movies,TV and recordings!

Truly heartbreaking. I can't watch it without crying. Judy at the end of the line with more talent, gumption, courage and power than anyone has a right to expect. Only at 3.59 do we see the momentary collapse of the dream.

how the hell did this show ever rate as low as it did with audiences??? I think it was a brilliant thing that Judy was doing and they should have let her try another season

Actually, don't read Mel Torme's book at all. He lies and makes things up. Read Coyne Steven Sanders's "Rainbow's End: The Judy Garland Show"--it's a much better account.

Judy was such a powerful & talented performer and one of the greatest singers ever but the CBS executives were sadly threatened by this little giant & did everything to supress Judy but in the end it was their loss & the audiences...a truly magnificent performance from the most real LEGEND...Bravo JUDY!!!

Funny, but I am sure that I once read that the ending of the final show had to be pieced together from other shows because she was unable to complete the show. Yet, her is this clip showing her in full command of herself and er talent.

@up2space You're right that it was intended as the final number for the show, but in fact this was filmed after she had done a number called "Where is the Clown?" which explains the clown costume. That number was cut, and hence this number as a finale wasn't used because the producers believed it would be too jarring and inexplicable for the audience if Judy went from being dressed in an evening gown to a clown suddenly in the final number. Instead I believe they used "When the Sun Comes Out".

At 3:29, I can't help but think she MAY have meant to sing: "...and here's to YOU for letting me DO what I'll do to the end of my days!" Still, what an incredibly prophetic lyric!
