Garland has just triumphed in the Carnegie Hall concert and took her concert to San Francisco. I was 19 and wanted to see her...went to the box office, sold out...of course. Just as I started to leave, a man rushed to the box office and wanted to see if her could get a refund on two mezzanine tickets..I and another lost soul grabbed them. I have never experienced anything like that concert in all the years since. The moment she walked out on that stage, the electricity jumped across the footlights, the audience was electrified, and she held all 5,000 of us in the palm of her hand. She was absolutely amazing. After the show, I ran to the rear of the Civic Auditorium, hoping to see her leave. Her limo was there, waiting...I was next to the rear window when this tiny woman appeared at the stage door, acknowledged the cheers, climbed in and scooted over to where she was 5 inches away from my beaming face. Like an awkward fan I yelled through the glass, "I love you!" She beamed a huge a smile and yelled back..."I love you, too!" I cherish that memory to this day.

The incomparable legend was great in so many ways and her tragic times overshadow it in a way but she is one of a kind and this (with video) version of San Francisco is a super treasure. I find no other version (or tune by her) comes close to the moment where she croons the only bridge is a darn old bridge to.... SAN FRANCISSCOOOOO. can watch it a million times and goose bump delight each and every time. And great how she enjoys singing it here, and the crowds love and when did you ever hear applause in middle of a song these days?

Judy had the most unique singing voice GOD ever blessed another human with. Her voice touched even the hardest of hearts. She told a story with each song & her sincereity & reverance to all who came to hear her sing. She personalized each song no other singer had that talent. She was unrivaled then and still unrivaled now and there will never be another singer like her ever. 40+ yrs after her death she still ignites excitement & she is still garmering new fans. how many singers can say that?

Irreplaceable, Immeasurable TALENT, When she gets up on that stage, she's fully clothed, vibrant, energetic, and she gives it her all, you can tell! It also happens to be at the climax of her career (and if I may be so bold, her lifetime!) 1960-1962 is the best, clearest, time in terms of the quality of her singing voice, she was also a superb dancer (as seen in this clip, her timing is absolutely perfect, she has the audience in utter disbelief, and just listen to 1:25-2:15! Unbelievable, absolutely amazing talent, Just imagine what it would have been like if she lived to 2013 still singing, this decade would have been amazing, I hope to get a front row seat to her when I grow old and go to heaven, Hayden Stenlund, 15.

Well... Judy was placed on a long slimming road to being skinny just two years later. Anyway She rendered the classic song perfectly, certainly. Norman Jaweson- who produced the show and later on the first 7 episodes of Judy's famous CBS The Judy Garland Show- once said that he had been working with many many grand artists (Norman directed the best ever dramatic musical movie ever- "Fiddler on the roof") but nobody had come close to Judy. I couldn't agree more on that...

This was a "Special" in '62, prior to her CBS weekly show that started in '63. This "event' show may have been what sold the idea to the network...but they didn't know how to produce a weekly showcase for her talents, she was up against the blockbuster Bonanza, and she couldn't handle the grind...and her agent Begleman embezzled her money...she couldn't catch a break....

Rhaegar, If Beyonce already knows how to do it, then why doesn't she. Judy didn't need anything extra to enhance her performance or to win over an audience. She had everything she needed. A microphone, some music, a stage, and a ton of God given talent, and the smarts to know how to use it. There will never be another Judy. She died 51 years ago, and her fan base seem to be growing with each passing day.
