Judy Garland - Rainy Day Rehearsal - Rare Audio

This is meant to be a visual representation of the rehearsal version of "Here's that Rainy Day" from The Judy Garland Show. While not as strong vocally as on the broadcast version, I've always liked this wistful, plaintive reading.
This recording has never been released on CD or on TJGS DVDs.
The audio is taken from the LP release "Star Eyes" -- I have corrected the pitch, and added some depth.
The visuals are from the broadcast version of the same song.

"Here's that Rainy Day" was the favorite song of the great late-night television host, Johnny Carson. When Bette Midler came to visit on Carson's next-to-last show (after a thirty-year run in 1991) she sang this song to him. The normally stoic Mr. Carson could only blink back tears and nod in appreciation.

Have the aired version on DVD but never heard this rehearsal version before. In a word, "SWEET"!!! Thank You for putting this creation out here for the rest of us! You know we can't get enough (especially when it's really good).

KZbin it's so sad for somebody to have messed the video of Judy Garland here's that rainy day. She gave us the best in entertainment and she deserves respect. Besides that video is property of the company that manufacturer it and nobody has the right to mess up a beautiful song and video like they did on KZbin. Hope you can find the original here's that rainy day by Judy Garland like we saw her singing it like a great singer she was

When I was a kid, I had that black double album set with the Douglas Kirkland tear stained color still inserted and all the tracks were at the wrong speed, I'd slow down my turntable just so I could listen to them.

@@allanfisch I had that album when I was a teenager and it was a TRIPLE album. Judy's been my favorite singer since I was 12 years old. I'm 63 now!!!! No one EVER sang better than Judy!!!!!!
