I love this performance and I love this version I think it's very natural and I didn't read any negative comments I didn't know there were any but this is a very soothing song and Judy doesn't Justice

This is marvelous to see - remember that this was when television was live. Really live; not like today, so it is unedited, and was recorded by kinescope. I think it's great just to see Judy doing something like this. Many early kinescopes simply did not survive. There is a great quote in the film Me and my Shadows; where Judy is consoled by a friend who says "You know, even half dead, you're better than anybody else!" Though this may not be a "polished" performance, she's still amazing!!

I think this habit of her, messing her hair, is endearing. It's not on purpose. It's Judy being Judy. I love her no matter what😀

@Jayee123 This was the finale of the show. That is why she exits up the stairs. Garland had just finished performing on live TV in front of millions of viewers. She can be forgiven for looking nervous. As for her messing up her hair, that was a nervous habit throughout her entire career, particularly on her TV series in 1963-64. No director could EVER get her to stop it. Given her erratic attendance habits and tardiness, a director would be happy that she even showed up at all.

I think given this busy time of Judy's career , she never looked and sounded better ! .... Always thought it's very cute to see Judy mess up her hair on camera.... it's unpretentious ... and should never be criticized !

what's wrong with this performance. Everyone is appologizing for Judy, but I happen to think she's great here. It's kind of impromptu.....

This is very interesting and insightful comment......I think I may have felt the same way, that is, your own childhood reactions which seem, with hindsight, perfectly normal. I must agree with your comment in its entirety. Thanks for taking the time to leave it here. Mr S.
