Happy day! Received replacement today, sent defective one back...set up new one, programmed it, left it in scan mode...cooling fan fired up and radio is now running cool...this will be delegated to emergency use in go bag...good luck on yours if you buy one...73

I followed your video exactly, and I am seeing the transmit frequency offset change now on my programmed channel 0. I can hear the repeater when it transmits but no one can hear me, and I can tell I am not tripping the repeater. I also notice I have no CTCS indicator. Menu settings for CTCS is not sticking. No matter what I did at that point CTCS-T would not setting would not save. So I did another factory reset, started over, set CTCS-T first, then followed the video and it worked. Problem solved. Suggestion, for the video you should have started with the factory reset. Yours worked because you had CTCS-T set before the video started.

This might be hairsplitting just a bit, it's my understanding that this radio has dual monitoring capabilities not do receiving capabilities as it only has one receiver. In any event thanks for the video...

TheSmokinApe I was thinking when I posted this that someone was going to come in and point that out. I thought it would take longer though :) But yes, you are correct. If this thing had dual receivers at this price they would not be able to keep them on the shelves!

5 year old comment but...The display shows CH 199 on the "B" slot which is an entirely different channel. The one he set was indeed CH 000 but he set the display on "A" slot to frequency.

Have a question about this radio. My beep is set for ON, But it does not appear to be working, Also when the radio is set on scan you can hear someone is talk about 10 secs then it goes back into scan, It only does it in scan mode. What do I need to set?

This is connected to a Workman UVS-200. Great antenna, especially for the money.

There is a menu item for offset but it applies to all bands. If you set it to use -.600 then that will apply to every frequency whether VHF or UHF. It's actually easier to program a memory than to adjust offset on the VFO every time you need to change it.

My radio will not program a freq of 147.030 it will not program any higher than 146.995 this happens after a reset. Any ideas? 73 Kc0txw

I had that problem when it would be in scan mode and stopped on a signal. To restore audio I would have to quickly tap the PTT.

Hello. I installed this radio in my car last week but just passed my Technician exam today. Does your fan come on pretty frequently on this radio? Mine does but it's most likely from being in the car with some warm weather. 73's

My unit does not have a fan so no, it does not come on very often :)

Not too happy with this rig...got it on 9-21...programmed it, hooked up to 5/8 wave GP...received excellent audio reports on 2 meters...noticed rig was very hot to touch...hmmm. cooling fan does not work...after about 30 minutes of receive mode only, rig overheated and sound from speaker sounds like bacon frying...sending it back to retailer for replacement...
