I’ve been playing this several times a day. ‘Nearly’ got the F#dim7 nailed. And I’ve been doing the other Ragtime one too.. Thanks for these fab playalongs Phil. Love them.

@@PhilDoleman Welcome! Is getting little bit better. So far it is a long way to achieve little betterments but enjoy it. To play and practicing other music instruments too, it helps me to understand the Ukulele better. All the best from Germany for you! Good to listen more to your teachings next weeks and months. It is a great help.

This is really fun. Like your explanation of the F chord with the added high C and the transition to the F#dim7 is great, need to practice that bit, love it, thank you.

I'm not picking on the uke, that's the banjo doing those bits.

Great fun but one observation, you’re playing the F chord with an extra finger. I’ve noticed this fingering before and am interested to know why it’s played this way sometimes. Thanks for you commitment to these two minute tips. An excellent idea. We don’t always want to plough through a thirty minute wordy video.

Thanks Keith. An F chord only has 3 notes (F, A and C), so we have to double up on one of them if we want to be able to strum all the strings. The 'two finger' F doubles up the A, which on a high G uke means we have two notes exactly the same, in the same octave. Adding the little finger on the 3rd fret doubles up the C instead, and this C is an octave above the open C string, so the chord sounds 'bigger'. Also, I can keep my little finger in place when I move to the F#dim7, making for a smoother change. It's also handy on songs with an F to Fm change for the same reason. You can happily play the 2 finger version when jamming along!

Thanks Phil. I will try the three fingered F in other songs to hear how it sounds. Thanks
