The artist for Trench Crusade is Mike Franchina. The whole franchise started as his passion project he was working on in the evenings and then eventually expanded to miniatures made from his art. Incredible world and such a fun art style to do some fanarts in. I don't usually want to do any fanart as such but this universe just feels incredibly free form to explore presently.

Nothing weird about your voice, Louise, it sounds great and always enthusiastic. Surprised and happy at how well received Trench Crusade has been, it's also nice to be able to get double use out of some future mini projects and have a reason to raid and paint old board game minis that never got love.

I love Trench Crusade, it feels like the 80s again with Brian Bolland Nemesis the Warlock art in 2000AD, proper transgressive stuff but now available to kitbash and 3D print. Reminds me of 40k Rogue Trader a bit, but more full-on, less shonky. Gundams, I bought a couple last year when Peachy and MS Paints were building them - you should get him on - lovely to build, but they feel like Airfix kits, once they're built what then. Painting 40k or Moonstone or Death May Die minis, I get to use them in a board game after

My favorite quote of Tuomo during an interview with Tabletop Time was along the lines of "Some games that want to go more mainstream are sanding down their edges to appeal to mass market. We decided to go all out on the edgy". They are basically replacing the Grimdark of 40K and bringing it back in an even more Grimdark heavy metal way.

You are right Rob, Bandai was smart to seek an audience through Louise. While I probably won't make a major effort, I was manipulated into wanting to try out a kit from her video. They should probably be reaching out to Lego influencers too... there is some definite resonance there. Also, thank you so much for this 53:54, and of course for getting rid of the chewing haters. Louise, love your voice, but you are really throwing shade at Peachy for lending it to everyone but him. Orphan Timmy has a date with a werewolf attack.

The thing that really appeals to me about Trench Crusade, is that it takes what I like about 40k, I.e the grim dark, horror, and turns it up to 11. For obvious reasons (mass appeal selling to children) GW is moving toward a more palatable aesthetic. Trench Crusade feels like it slips into the void left behind. Really exited for it!

Great video. Love you guys. I agree regarding going to Cons. They can be crazy busy. I went to Rose City ComicCon in Portland, Oregon last year and it was so busy…but also awesome! Also, Louise, you have a lovely, warm Scottish accent. Anyone would be fortunate to have you voice their character. Regarding the Black Death, it occurred in the mid 1300’s, not the 1500’s, and wiped out one third of the population of Europe, not 90%. Trench Crusade seems to be quite heavily influenced by Rackham Confrontation, the early version of which also had amazing miniatures.

I think that 4th edition has done a great job of making stormcast "cool", if not simply more appealing. Putting the silver color scheme front and center along with new sculpts that are much more grimdark really sold me on finally starting the faction.

GW being a no-show at Comic Con sounds familiar. For many years they had absolutely no presence at Gen Con, and when they did turn up the first time it was with an end cap booth that was tables piled high with GW Direct white boxes and Black Library books. It was a bit of a shock considering how much other companies made the most of the event.

Way too many comments to read through and see if this has already been covered, but elated to hear you all talk about Trench Crusade. As to Rob's comment about Middle Eastern cultures being depicted as the good faction, check out Infinity. Haqqislam has for years been the 'good guys' of the setting. A humanitarian leaning faction concerned more with the continued existence and evolution of mankind than their personal societal power within the Human Sphere. Also no doggos were harmed during the sculpting of the Anchorite Shrine. That's a goat :P
