Hey Derek, you could maybe wash the felt as it is more robust than the spongy bit. I also cut a new spongy bit when I did this job. Make sure the sponge fits in tight enough so the dusty air does not go down past the side of the sponge. Also, some sponge does not allow air through them very well - make sure the bit you have you can blow or suck some air through it!
