Practically tropical 15c. Remember the first time I had handbrake problems, was in a old Vauxhall Viva 1256cc, it came off in my hand!! Just waiting on parts for the x-trail, feels like drivers side CV joint is on its way out. Last year replaced passenger side. Might get done before Sunday, If we get the weather??? What time does the car show start?

Eh up Derek, glass back and concrete do not mix, unless lots of ibuprofen available. Foxwell will communicate with all Land rovers from 300tdi up to 2016 models. Would you believe this after I gave you all my D2 spares, someone came up to me to see if i had a drivers door window regulator. Is that what you call life. If you get interested in videoing a different type of engines, working of coal and water, get in contact. Ps I would love to see and intro with you d2 driving towards the camera, then a outro of it driving away. I got to say your d2 td5 sounds brilliant. pps speed sensor fault might come back once you have driven it.

Oooh, something just occured to me... While I was monkeying around with my fuel-pump I checked the relays under the bonnet and was surprised to find they are NOT standard relays. Honestly, I can't even remember what was different about them but it was significant enough that I got a mate to double check what I'd found and it seemed like the D2 relays aren't completely compatible with standard 4/5 pin ones. The D2 relays (on mine) are Ford badged so we borrowed a couple out of his Ford Fusion for comparison and, although they look identical, they DON'T function in exactly the same way. Course, we didn't do anything sensible like compare part numbers but it seems like if you replace a relay on a D2 with the minset that "a relay's just a relay innit?!" you might be in for trouble. If you've replaced the relay for the ACE, and not used a relay specifically intended for a D2, that might be causing your problem.
@sleepycatpictures1176
@sleepycatpictures1176 Ай бұрын
I checked, the relays are the same. Anyway I'll see if the code comes back after a drive. Not much info on the 'net related to D2's. Might be just a dodgy connection on a ECU somewhere. When I can move properly, I'll get under the dash!
@SiCrewe
@SiCrewe Ай бұрын
The ACE fault code is kind of important. Coincidentally, as I just said in another comment, the real purpose of ACE is that it pressurises the ACE rams at road-speed to minimise body-roll but at low speed (such as when you're off-road) it depressurises them to maximise axle articulation. Without the speed signal the ACE doesn't know how fast the vehicle is travelling so it can't adjust the ACE. Must admit, I don't know whether the failsafe ACE setting is pressurised or depressurised. Kind of a silly question with a D2 but are you noticing a lot of body-roll in corners? With standard tyres, and ACE, a D2 SHOULD corner surprisingly well. If you're getting a lot of body-roll, the ACE is probably depressurised and you've, basically, got no ARBs. Honestly, though, I'd hope the failsafe setting would be for the ACE to be pressurised, cos that's mean the vehicle was always safe for road driving, even if the electrickery failed. Thinking about it a bit more, the fact that you don't have an ACE warning light on the dash probably means the ACE IS pressurised - safe for road driving. Your only problem is that if you decide to go off-roading the ACE won't depressurise to give you better axle articulation. Or, at worst, it might suddenly lose it's marbles in a fast corner and try and throw you off the side of the road, like my first D2 did. 🤨
@sleepycatpictures1176
@sleepycatpictures1176 Ай бұрын
Oh crap . . . Plenty of marbles missing myself . . . ! Don't really notice the cornering but now you have mentioned it. I'll check. Perhaps a fluid change and filter might help.
