The “more lovecraftian demons” before the tanari mentioned at 6:30 are called the obyrith. I had a campaign about the world they came from. It had a lot to do with the shard of pure evil that they used to pierce the veil between our world and theirs. Demon lord Pazuzu and Dagon are surviving obyrith.

Instead of insane humans being Juiblex's cleric or anti paladin I always wanted a humanoid slime race that had a proper bipedal shape and were transparent so you could see through their innards giving the balance of eeriness and sentience.

Our campaign specialized in fighting against the forces of the Abyss and our DM had each demon lords served by a strike team of 6 agents/cultists/followers that were in part inspired by the Colossus of Chaos of Demogorgon and the Hand of Vengeance of Lolth. Juiblex was served by the Jelly Courtiers consisting of Glam Master Ooze (a gnome monk/illusionist/oozemaster), The Great Globster General, Princess Pudding, the Gelatinous Joker, Baron Blob and the Slime Marquise. A real set of misfits they were.

The other demon lords are generally buff and scary badasses. However, big ooze boi would have to be the most difficult to kill. His whole layer would be “splatooned out” difficult terrain, he would probably just dissolve your swords, and at some point I’m sure some nasty goop would splash on your spell book. It’s like if I tried to slay my friends outdoor pool if it was filled with boiling snot. Love the episodes guys! Keep up the great work!

In reference to the Lair Actions, with the 4d10 fire damage if the slime is burned, I take that flavor text as a type of Napalm (a highly flammable sticky "jelly" - used IRL in bombs and flamethrowers). Which is terrifying to think about and can't believe a Napalm Jelly doesn't exist in the Monster Manual. Just found this video and y'alls channel, really enjoyed it and can't wait to see more of y'alls stuff.

I have liked and commented! I continue to serve the goopy dungeoncast! Greetings again milords! I'm most happy to see you again as always! Though...must we keep delving into the abyss so frequently? Of course I would follow you into the deepest circle of baotor, or to anywhere else in the known realms, but with these messy places in the abyss and the underdark, I've had to spend a fortune on having my armor polished! Money isn't everything, but I don't desire to serve you as a beggar on the streets of baldur's gate for goodness sakes! Hmm, this juiblex...he seems complacent, but a demon lord is a demon lord nonetheless. I can not let my vigilance drop, less he try something funny. However I will not crusade into his realm. Considering two demon lords reside in that foul unholy place, it would be to risky. Especially since he doesn't seem a likely threat, and he and his fungus filled crush there keep each other busy. They bicker like two school goers who have crushes on one another, but refuse to admit it. Still, I should try my best to exterminate any spikes, oozes and gelatinous cubes in the area. Best to wipe them out to lower the numbers of his forces preemptively. For now though, I rest for a short while... Hey everybody welcome to this week's short rest, where I'm talking about not slimes, but love! Now as we all know, the world is going a little cookoo right now, what with a plague sweeping the land and dumb people who are surely less intelligent than a gelatinous cube licking toilet seats for clicks on the internet. So I just wanted to remind you, that I lobe you all. So much so that much like with a slime when juiblex slides by, when you walk by I jiggle with joy! So all of you have a good day and stay safe! Now let us finish this weeks comment. Thanks again boys! Giving me the weekly fix again, never disappointing. In my continually growing head canon that all dnd gods are just teenagers at a house party, juiblex is that one fat dude who just doesn't care about anything, sitting on the couch all day in his tighty whities eating cold cuts and cheetos off his over sized belly. Also here's an idea that suggests why juiblex could be weak comparatively speaking to other demon lords, and still be a minor deity. Assuming he has very little human followers, he has very few sentient followers considering his followers are slimes who can't really worship him. So since dnd gods grow more powerful with more worship, I'm sure you can get the point I'm trying to make. Lastly I had an idea recently for what slimes could be like in my own fantasy setting. Its a more dark approach and a basic concept right now, but I'm thinking slimes are created though twisted alchemical rituals that transform people into slimes. Its possible to have players do a CON save vs the stench and if they fail they will puke. If the fail enough times where they puke constantly they gain exhaustion.

So the ooze uprising gives me ideas. In the campaign I am running, Legacy of Fire, there is a Slime that has absorbed the memories of a digested adventurer that gets that impression passed on to a PC. They become the moldspeaker and have the curse of having this ancient adventurer in their head compelling them to complete their quest. Imagine oozes and slimes eating adventurers and absorbing their skills, with Jubilex secretly directing them to spread the capablities of these adventurers To ordinary townsfolk and fostering a revolutionary indoctrination of dangerous individuals into the people, all under the influence of the Demon Prince allowing them to take the mantle of Legion and to storm the Abyss with the myriad of souls digested into their Entity.

8:45 is more or less the 2nd arc of the game I'm running right now. The players are caught up in a proxy war between Zuggtmoy and Juiblex in the underdark over control of the Grand Mycellum that connect all fungus on the continent, possibly the world. If 'Blex gets his goop up in the mycellum, he will have the power to mobilize every slime on the Prime Material to his end and make a play for the world. But if Zugg can make contact on the prime and get up in the mycellum herself, that obviously spells a different disaster. How is the party gonna make sure neither side can bring a demon lord into the underdark? Sure beats me, we'll find out.

21:12 Thinking about it and looking things up about Juiblex's domain. There's no air circulation, theres no natural ventilation. It's all caves and tunnels way deep below. The further you go down, away from the surface. There's not gonna be any breathable air. And with how much the lore talks about the stank of Juiblex. And how poisonous the fumes are. It could be like sulfide or mustard gas in the air. With no fresh air, or even acidic. Corroding armor and weapons, flesh. And if you breathed in the air, it'll liquefy you in the insides. Starting with your raspatory system. You'd gave to find some way to make armor that's resillient to the corrosive acids and bring you breathable air. Just to even truly enter and explore Juiblex's domain.
