Not many actors, much less Black ones, have been in 3 consecutive hit TV shows. Sherman Hemsley has. Starting with “All in The Family” (1973-75), it’s spinoff, “The Jeffersons” (1975-85), & “Amen” (1986-91), Hemsley was a constant TV presence in our homes for almost 18 straight years in 3 different decades on 3 different shows. Iconic Black TV actors such as John Amos, Redd Fox, & even Bill Cosby, have never accomplished this feat. He is VASTLY underrated!

I was writing an Easter production of which Vanessa Bell Armstrong was a special guest. During the planning she let us know that Shine On Me had just been authorized for her to record. Obviously I wrote in a whole new scene just for her to sing it and the our church went crazy and started singing so loud until they became the choir.

One of my favorite episodes was the time they threw a carnival. Several carnival goers became ill from the macaroni salad the church sold at the carnival, and the church ended up getting sued. Losing the lawsuit would have bankrupted the church, but the Deacon saved the day. To refute the claim of the macaroni salad being contaminated, his plan was to eat the macaroni salad during the court proceedings, get the lawsuit dismissed, then QUICKLY go to the restroom and "expel" the macaroni salad before he could digest it and make himself sick. His plan almost worked, until the plaintiff's attorney called Rolly to the stand as a rebuttal. Rolly took SO long with his testimony, the Deacon couldn't get to the restroom in time. He was still suffering the effects of the contaminated macaroni salad 2 months later. 🤣

My mom often told me, before he passed, that she knew he was gay. But never said how she knew. She also told me about other gay stars. She just said no one talked about it back then like that.

How can; 227, Cosby show and this ever be compared? Great analogy using fruit. Like lemon, lime, orange. All citrus based fruits but with extremely different flavor profiles.

Thanks for making this video the last season I thought was really missing the beef with out both sisters and it bothered me not knowing what happened to that character? Bumper was great but he kinda faked because I think people saw him as the sisters replacement and he should’ve seen as an added character

The signature clips of the show that Juicy Pop usually uses in her videos. This reupload is gif and picture heavy in order to bypass bots and the censors

Amos 'n' Andy was a good, funny, and wholesome TV show. The negative narrative about it is so misguided and put a lot of good black actors and actresses out of work in the 1950s. Amos 'n' Andy was the first-ever sitcom with a Black ensemble cast in U.S. history. When the show ended due to NAACP protests, many of the actors who starred on it had hard times finding acting work because of their associations with the infamous TV show. Some died penniless. Jester Harrison (Raleigh) was a cast member of Amos 'n' Andy.
