Hopeless is one of my favorite songs in life, period! I have it on my playlist to listen to once, but I always wind up hearing it about 4-5 times. Its funny how lyrics can be so simple, yet be so complex.

Dionne Farris got me through a particularly difficult period in my life. For 2.5 years I was in an abusive relationship and her song "Don't Ever Touch Me Again" helped give me the strength to finally leave. For that, she will always have a special place in my heart.

Like those before her that didn't fit In a r&b box (Tracy Chapman.. Macy Gray.. MeShell Ndegeocello etc.. ) it's hard... When you're black r&b is all you're supposed to do when you're a singer.. Sad how people try to make u fit in a box... I'm glad she stuck to her guns and continues to do so.. "Hopeless" still feels and sounds like a cloudy beautiful rainy day... I love that song.
