Matte Foundation Routine

@hamrox97 if you have dry skin you don't need to use a matte foundation! try a foundation specifically for dry skin to help it not "crumble" as much. also, you don't need to set it with lots of powder. hope these tips help!

I understand the feeling of being insecure about your skin. I carry a cover stick in my backpack so I'm always prepared. But I just want to tell you that it shows a lot of courage to put your exposed face on camera, and this tutorial definitely helped me and I hope to purchase these products in the future so that maybe I can also feel a little better or less self-conscious about my own skin. Hi Blair- Thanks for the video! I am a huge fan of LM products. Tip: DO NOT use the Secret Concealer to conceal blemishes/areas of redness. The Secret Concealer is meant to be used on the under-eye area only; therefore, it is a creamy and emollient consistency so your undereye area doesn't look flaky. Emollient usually equals bad for oily skin. The LM Secret Camouflage concealer (the one with the 2 stripes) is meant for concealing areas on your face - it's oil free, and it's fabulous!

Blair I'm pretty sure I have the exact same skin type and problems as you, so I know how you feel about your foundation, coverage and oilyness! Some of you all are very rude, she is the old blair, and she never does sponsored videos. Like ever besides once in a while. They only gave her one thing to try out. blair! I used to have huge purpleish acne scars on the side of both of my cheeks in middle school I put just plain aloe vera gel on the scars and rubbed it in over the summer and they were completely gone by the time school started again. so I highly reccomend you try aloe vera gel on your cheeks to get rid of the acne scars. it takes a month or 2 for them to completely be gone, but it works! (:

I know how hard it is for me to go out to certain places without makeup so kudos to you for showing all of us! just a tip, i use fix plus so i spray my face with that too, and i realized that when i hold it in front of my face like you do, so much of it just falls to the ground because of gravity or whatever hah:) so i basically lay my head back and hold the spray bottle above or higher than me so that what DOES fall down, falls right on my face where i want it :) and it doesnt go to waste!

For viewers that don't want to spend all the money on Laura Mercier foundation a halfway-decent doupe for oil-controling foundation is the Neutrogena skin clearing oil free makeup. This controls oil all day, and i have oily skin and this really works. They also have the powder and a skin-clearing roll stick, these are all available at Target or any drugstore.

i love laura mercier foundation 2! but because i have dry skin and because i dont need a lot of coverage i use the tinted moisturizer! it is AMAZING! i loved the video!

BLAIR I have acne scarring that I am uncomfortable about too ... it's so bad that my dermatologist actually thought that I have had "severe" acne but it's actually just gradual but don't be so self-conscious about it! It's very common and you take great care of it :)

i agree with what everyone is saying - give your skin a little break! it won't clear up absolutely perfectly, but not wearing any foundation for a week or so will help.

Blair has said in other videos that she's been wanting to do an updated foundation routine since she got the Laura Mercier foundation. people who say that you just have to go without foundation a few days ad your skin wouldn't be problematic, really don't understand acne prone skin at all. if you are not using products that break you out (and most people who suffer from acne know what they can put onto their skin and what breaks them out), then there is no harm in wearing foundation. plus it's easier said than done, going outside with really bad skin if you're insecure about it..

i have really oil skin too especially during the summer. up until recently i've been using the mac oil control lotion and it's amazing! even if i wear it on top of sun screen my face states relatively matte until the end of the day.

Thanks for the advise! I bought it and I love this foundation!! They do not have a wide range of colors but I am NC42 and Hazelnut Beige works pretty well for me..it is a bit light but bronzer helps!

Blair! My skin, even with foundation on it, doesn't look as good as yours. Its like the foundation just goes on top of of my imperfections... but doesn't hide them. Anyway, I think you are beautiful even without makeup, and I hope you make videos for a long time! xo
