i'm dreaming to go to Juilliard, one of the most prestigious fine arts school in the world but against my parents' wishes who want me to focus on math or science, a stable career. I know they don't understand how much i love dance, drama, vocal performance, and anything artistic and how it makes me feel when watch anything related to Juilliard on youtube. Although i know that i have a long time before college (i'm 12) it always makes my heart pump whenever i see anything slightly relating to this school

Dear Peta - thank you for the note and we're so happy that you have a passion for the performing arts! Since you have a few years before you need to make any decisions about college, keep exploring that passion, but keep an open mind about other disciplines too. Some Juilliard students don't pursue careers in the arts, but end up in medicine, law, finance, and other fields. There are many paths you can take in life -- keep performing and learning and you'll figure out what is the best fit for you.

peta rose Your parents love you and probably have good intentions but you can’t let ANYBODY ruin your dreams. You don’t wanna look back in ten years wishing that you’d made different choices fight what u want. Work hard, keep pushing if dance,drama , music is what you want then fight for it. I want you to be the best you can be. Even if that means going against the wishes of your parents

Get into ballet now. If you are good at hip hop that shows raw talent and promise but ballet is ALWAYS the foundation.

My dream is to go to Juilliard, one of the best arts schools in the world. Everyone knows the name and I long for the day when I can say I’ve auditioned. I really like, drama, singing, and dance and I’m going to apply for all of them when it’s time. I really hope I get in because it’s my dream and I’m going to keep re-applying until I get in. I have started my GCSE’s (I live in the Uk) and I’m majoring in drama and music. Could you give me any tips on how to get better at auditioning? I haven’t told my parents that I want to go there yet (I’m 13). The tuition fees are expensive and I have to pay for a dorm aswell. I’m saving all the money I can just to apply! Please can I have advice? It would mean the world!

Minimum grade 8 in an y instrument you play, and highest level of dance etc there are plenty of scholarships and bursaries available, just make sure you’re the best.

I answered on another video as well, but wanted to share here too! Dance applicants are required to have at least three years of training in ballet and modern dance.
