I went 50 miles on my ecotric hammer yesterday. After 31 miles I had three bars left. Sharks cruising probably between 11 and 15 miles an hour. I noticed if you're just cruising it saves a lot of electric. Just like on a car if you just cruise and don't punch the gas. I like the Retro handlebars but long-distance doesn't do your wrists or your arms any good. I need to do a break upgrade or change the pads most likely. The pads are really cheap. I like your channel I really appreciate no ads more than you can imagine
@AMRonin4 жыл бұрын
I also have the Juintech, and to my opinion they don't offer that much more braking power... What I did to improve on that is: 1. Replace the discs to 203mm (be advised you will need a "Post Mount Disk Brake Adapter" for the calipers, as they need to be positioned slightly higher; these are very cheap and easy to find). 2. Replace the Juintech's Chinese pads to Shimano (M07Ti), which are 100% direct replacement. These Shimanos are high quality Japanese made pads designed for the XTR series. These two small upgrades will give your brakes an extra "bite" and maybe 20% more braking power with the same amount of lever pull.

Tires: All you really need to know is Maxxis Minion FBF (front) and FBR (rear). More supple, more grip, long lasting, and super confidence inspiring. Once my Kendas wear out a little, that's what I'm doing, tubeless is the plan. These Kendas are just not in the same league. My wife agrees. Had the minions on my Giant Anthem 29er, LOVED THEM. 120 TPI vs 30 TPI will be noticeable. Worth the $99 per tire price, all day long.

I have Juintech too. Main 3 advantages over stock mechanic calipers: 1: both sides apply pressure on the brake disk...2: the brake pads have a larger contact surface compared to the stock mechanic...3: on the mechanic, doesn't matter which manufacturer, you loose energy transforming the rotating movement of the caliper lever into the pushing force against the brake disk
@Hoggdoc19463 жыл бұрын
This change is a good because both brakes are active. If you change your front rotors to 203mm (you'll need an adapter for the caliper.). Amazon and other site have both the adapters and rotors for nominal cost. No need to change the rear rotor as there is already enough power to lock the wheel.

Another option I just came across is the CST Roly Poly. I know the Maxxis Minions are amazing, but you can get 2 Roly Poly tires for less than a single minion. ($40 or so) CST and Maxxis are integrated brands. Maxxis is higher end, but the CST offer a similar "flavor". Great reviews for a much lower priced tire. I think I'm going to skip the Minions for now, as awesome as they are, and try the CST Roly Polys. Cheap enough to beat the snot out of them, and not be as heartbroken as I would be if I killed a Minion. Still think VERY highly of the Minions, I loved them on my 29er, but I'm liking the idea of the CST's, just for comparison.

Great review and video! :) Yeah, unfortunately this is the opinion of most folks who've switched to these (Juintech or XTech) hydraulic calipers - 'Just a little better.' It's quite disappointing because on the surface it sounds like such a good idea. So far I've had no problems with the stock brakes, but I still have all stock controller/motor/battery. I found that with a bit of adjustment, the stock brakes seem to stop me quite well. Small update: I got the Suntour suspension seatpost and have been trying it out - done a couple of 19 - 21-mile rides but my butt still hurts and goes numb after about 10 miles. I want to blame it on the Bikeroo seat, but I'm really not sure that's it...
@WildBillRidesAgain4 жыл бұрын
Is the Bikeroo seat spring loaded? I put on s Suntour plus a spring-load wider flater seat ( Schwinn, non-contoured). Somewhat along the lines that looks like what he has on his. Almost feels like I have full suspension now and can ride much longer without my butt wearing out or my teeth jarring out when I hit bumps/potholes. I did need to adjust the preload travel on the Suntour . With the standard spring load setting it was still a little stiff. Of course, everyone's butt mileage will vary. Lol
@charlescox76724 жыл бұрын
@@WildBillRidesAgain Well, I got the nylon spring version of the Bikeroo, not the traditional one with the metal springs, but with the suspension post, I don't think that should make much of a difference. I have no experience with the adjustment of the seatpost, so after installing the stiffer spring (Red one), I tightened the adjuster back to about where it was originally, just to the point of feeling some resistance. I don't really feel much of the bumps while riding, and the seat does bounce up and down a bit, so I think it's probably doing its job. Perhaps it's just a matter of getting used to it, but I now have 229 miles on the rover (20 rides), so...
@WildBillRidesAgain4 жыл бұрын
@@charlescox7672 I have about 400 miles but about only 200 miles on the new seat and post. I have the original spring which is the medium. What I did was keep adjusting it by bouncing up and down on it in my garage till it started to bottom out and then just adjusted back a little till it almost bottomed out. I weigh about 180 and that was the best I could get it to utilize its full length of travel and it seems to work better on most potholes. You know you can adjust the tension at/thru the bottom of the post ? 100% better than stock that's for sure . I still have to go up on the pedals over larger bumps though at speed. Keep playing with it till you get it the best you can or get a pillow. LOL. Good luck, and get rid of the quick release otherwise your seat and post might disappear in a heartbeat

@@charlescox7672 that's all you can do till you get it adjusted the best you can. As far as the seat post lock, go on Amazon and search. There's a bunch of different seat post lock choices on there that just replace the quick release so at least you won't have to carry a cable lock with you. I just replaced mine with a bolt that has a slotted head on one side and a Teflon nut on the other. Hey what’s up man! I’ve got a little update on my tire situation. A lot of the fat bike tire out there are great but they are made to be really light. My Jumbo Jim I got for my front tire is awesome and is a total game changer. BUT I ordered one for the back tire and it didn’t last long, because the bikes to heavy for it to be used as a back tire. The original tires that came off it are heavy thick rubber like a motorcycle tire the jumbo Jim is a very very light tire. So I no longer recommend getting them for the rear. I am now looking into other upgrade tires that are more rear specific and can handle more weight.
@petergarthwaite19384 жыл бұрын
I’m looking at the Maxxis Minion FBR for a rear tire. It has more weight to it than the jumbo Jim but it still has 120 TPI. The only problem is I think all these Fatbike tires the good ones at least that I’m looking at are made for fat tire bikes that don’t have all the extra weight of a motor and controller and heavier frame. I was so shocked at how thin and light the tires were compared to the ones that came with the bike. As far as front tires go these guys work great and I have had no problems for the last 50 miles. They are lighter and have way better grip. As for the back tire well at least the jumbo Jim was too thin and light of a tire to be put on the back. I’m going to be trying the Maxxis next it has a higher package weight than the jumbo Jim so I’m hoping it’s a thicker heavier tire. If not gonna have to stick with the Ebike tires they have out now cause nobody I know of is making heavier aftermarket Ebike fat tires.
@petergarthwaite19384 жыл бұрын
On another note the Jumbo Jim didn’t blow out on the back but I did land on a sharp walnut shell that punctured right through it. So maybe if I had the puntcture proof liners the tire would have lasted.
