Do you need more than one variety to pollenate them?

I'm hoping to plant one this year. We are in New Mexico, so quite different from Seattle, but I think it should work.....Thanks for the vid!

Thank you for sharing. I am in the Seattle area and had always wondered if Jujube can be grown here since iI heard that it needs the long summer heat to bloom and fruit. Have you tried the new variety GA866? I just bought one and someone just told me it would not produce in our climate.

Thanks for the awesome vid, I just planted a Chico, now waiting for my Sherwood.

I planted a Li and Lang from Hidden springs nursery in the fall. They are already flowering the first year. The Lang was 2.5 ft when I planted it and it's already taller than me. I was worried because it's still just full of flowers, no fruit, at the end of June. Apparently, that's normal. Thanks for the video. I guess I should start seeing the fruit develop over the next month.

They do grow into a Bush form here in Washington. There is a special pruning technique to get them to do it. I believe there is a how to here on KZbin. Yes I have a couple here in Tacoma that are bushes.
@BenBSeattle8 жыл бұрын
I'd be interested in this pruning technique.

Hello, I am also in Tacoma and just got a tree. Have your jujube's turned in to trees as of yet, or are they remaining as a bush still?

I heard these can be invasive with suckers growing up out of the ground, so I'm a bit nervous about planting one. Wondering if you've heard the same. Oh, yep guess you heard about that as well.
@binbin96 жыл бұрын
I've read about that. In seattle it may have a different growth habit. I dug up a 2yr old tree and moved it last yr. The roots did not extend very far from the trunk. So I have not experienced it nor know how long it would take for roots to get that deep.
@Joe996 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the response. The label on mine said it is good for containers, so I think I'm gonna go that route.

My tree did the same thing. I lightly scored the stalk with a nife to wake up the tree. New branches are sprouting now.
They have tap roots and do not like pots, that could inhibit the growth. They also like sandy soil for good drainage.
