In an interview, Gege said that Gojo was using Geto as his moral compass. So it’s crazy to me that if Geto had said yes then Gojo today would’ve been a menace

Something so heavy about that last scene. Gojo was using Geto as his moral compass. I imagine if Geto agreed to kill the followers, Gojo's future would have been entirely different. Instead Geto falls back to reason and starts to list off reasons he shouldn't act on his urges. He's really trying to convince himself, not Gojo. In the end Gojo follows Geto's decision because he's the only one he can trust in a situation like this.

I think someone probably already mentioned that, but in a last scene where gojo asking geto if he should kill all those people - he used geto as his moral compass. Because it’s like you said - he enlightened and he is high on how strong he is and alive now, so he cannot bring himself to care much. So he knows that geto is a good guy and his friend and asks him. If geto wasn’t who he was and said “okay, lets go” then gojo probably wasn’t anymore where he is and who he is now in present time. But geto, despite his disgust for these people stays true to his morals which saved gojo probably in this case. However, he, himself started to doubt everything he believed in before. In conclusion, he saved gojo from wrong path but instead went there himself. It’s really sad

Toji senses were telling him to run or you will die. But toji wanted to prove that someone like him someone with no curse energy can beat pinnacle of jujutsu. To prove zenin clan was wrong about him. But as he said at that point he already lost.

Your discussion on competition in life and particularly for Gojo was perfectly timed and on point. Gojo was born as "The special one" immediately chosen as the strongest sorcerer of the generation, likely immediately a special grade (however much that means) due to the two powerful techniques. Gojo seemed to reach a plateau where he had no competition and settled as just being better than Geto. Death gave him a full awakening in many ways

it was not explained in the anime, but Toji's chain is also a cursed tool called the chain of a thousand miles. The chain can extend infinitely as long as one end of the chain is not visible so he keeps one end inside the worm that way no one can see it, which allows it to extend as long as he wants. also not sure if you remember but geto has tojis worm in the movie jjk 0 and uses it when fighting yuta.

Fun thing about Tojis cursed spirit: We see Geto use that same spirit in the movie which is how he suddenly had all those cursed objects including the playful cloud (those three sticks with chains) Really like how it went from Toji to Geto to Maki, especially knowing that Toji and Maki are both "failures" by the standards of the Zenin family due to their heavenly restriction (yes that means Maki has the potential to be as big of a menace as Toji)

An extra detail is Toji and Gojo is heavily inspired by Buddah vs Son wukong (aka Monkey King), Toji is often framed as Monkey by other sourceror and Geto for his completely lack of curse energy, yet even as monkey he is unbeatable by all other self-destignated "higher beings" and create mass disturbance and chaos to all their life, but then finally met the great opponent out of pride and challenges Buddah and sadly died in his pawn of his own game as his extreme speed being outshined by Gojo's teleportation, and "Throughtout heaven and earth I alone am the honoured one" is the line Buddah says after the moment of his rebirth, just as Gojo revived from death being a reincarnate.

The way I interpret Geto's mental state and philosophy is that he is addicted to the "Shoulds" of existing, and is in many ways bound to the ideologies that he subscribes to. (The Jujutsu Sorcerer Society ideals, i.e protect people) He inherently has it within him to judge others as strong and weak, but the only reason why he stays on a positive track is that "it is what Sorcerers should do". In one way, Geto and Gojo's post credit conversation pushed each other to each other's ideologies. Gojo's questions pushed Geto away from acting only in line with things that "have a point" as prescribed by his ideology, and Geto's answers push Gojo towards personally believing in protecting others. I also like how they are Red/Blue in that scene, with Blue (Geto) being pulled into the madness and the anger sometime after this conversation (As seen in 0, jjk season 1), whereas Gojo was pushed out of the madness (Red = Attract/Push) by Geto's words - Which even Geto didn't fully believe himself. I think Geto not truly believing what he says is part of why Gojo keeps egging him on so much about it. Because Gojo would be able to tell if he didn't fully mean it. And he always pushes back so uncharacteristically hard on it. (Uncharacteristic of their usual comradery)
@vermagupta5432 Жыл бұрын
To put into context how high on his own power Gojo actually is here: "Throughout heaven and earth I alone am the honoured one" is a quote that was first said by The Buddha. Gojo is basically calling himself enlightened and that he thus stands above everyone else.

I've said it before in your comments I believe but I'll say it again: Gosso is killing it this season. It's honestly felt like a movie each episode with his direction style. This was the best JJK has ever looked tbh. Arifumi Imai was stellar as Episode Director and brought his usual AOT style with him. Tam Lu absolutely crushed the Hollow Purple scene and I can't wait to see more of their work. Finally, to tie it all together, Teppei Ito's compositing was top tier - his best work yet. The fact they're doing this with such limited time/resources just proves that this is being made out of pure passion. Can't wait for cour 2!

I don't know if you remember how the Heavenly Pact works. To my understanding, people that are born with awful luck, disiese or are destined to suffer like Mechamaru get some sort of "compensation" from life. This would give you insane amounts of cursed energy in Mechamaru's case or a superhuman body in Fushiguro's dad's case since he can't use cursed energy.

Hmm I get what you're saying about Gojo being so enlightened it's scary but when I watched it, I thought his blissed out nonchalance was temporary. I fully think he'll mourn for Amanai later after he comes down from his Resurrection buzz. He seems to be a fairly empathetic caregiver in later life, fighting for the rights of individual kids to live against Jujutsu society's leaders. But yeah... I don't put it past him to become Above It again and stop caring about individual human lives if he gets pushed to a certain limit.This is a truly beautiful show.

Man, I'm so shocked by your ability to predict so many things right. Can't tell which exactly to not spoil things for you, but a lot of your thoughts were really close to truth) Also, Toji dying standing is such a beautiful demonstration of his strength and willpower. A few facts about this gigachad from volume's extras (no spoilers): 1) Since Toji has zero cursed energy he has never been recognized as sorcerer and has never been granted with any grade. Though I think we all can agree, he's clearly on par with special grades sorcerers. 2) What he saw before the death was his first wife, holding newborn Megumi. She was the brightest thing he ever had in his life, the main reason of leaving Zenin and killing business. That's why he told that he had lost his edge - Riko was his first contract for a few years. After first wife's death he married Fushiguro Tsumiki's mother and lived for some time with them, even taking part in Tsumiki's parenting (though he mostly taught her how to beat the shit out of people xD). Somewhere at that time Shiu Kong (this korean guy, Toji's old "friend" and accomplice) visited Fushiguro's and even met small Megumi (he doesn't remember this). That's why Shiu asked Toji about Megumi in first episode. Also, it has never been stated out loud, but this korean guy seems to be not so simple at all. Later in this season there will be a lot of small details about him here and there. Watch closely. 3) It's also a mystery, but I think, Toji in some way achieved enlightenment himself, that's how he was able to break free of all cursed energy. We should remember, that being born with some sort of power isn't enough in this world - a lot of your strength lies in your resolve, mindset and ability to gamble your life for your own goals. Shame, that in his last fight his pride got in way and brought him to death. No matter how strong and genius you are, one single mistake is all you need to lose or die in Jujutsu world.
@mika9578 Жыл бұрын
As something to add about Gojo not feeling angry for Riko in that moment, at this point he hasn't even seen her body. Geto was the only one who saw it happen.

It’s the same conversation as the basketball court. Gojo doesnt place much if any value on the weak nor feels any responsibility to protect them. On the other hand geto does. He both values all lives and feels a strong responsibility to protect them, both as a jujutsu scorcerer and being as strong as he is. It’s what he preached all throughout his past up until his mental breakdown or whatever you want to call it

Idk if it's been explicitly confirmed anywhere, but I believe the leading theory as to why Geto couldn't absorb the baby backpack curse when it was on Toji was because it was 'bonded' or 'attached' or whatever to him, so he couldn't absorb it. Sort of the meme that 'you can't catch someone else's pokemon.' This is why in the movie, his plan involves killing Yuta THEN absorbing Rika, because he now has the knowledge that he can't absorb a curse that is bonded to someone. The baby backpack curse is the same one Geto has in JJK0 as well. The 'Am I Pretty' curse is based off a japanese folk tale called the 'Kuchisaki-onna.' Her thing is that she has a mask or something covering her face and scissors usually, and asks suspecting people if she's pretty. If you say no, she kills you lol. If you say yes, she takes off her mask and reveals that her face is slit from ear to ear to look like a giant smile, then asks again. If you say yes again, she slits your face the same way as hers, and if you say no, she kills you. JJK using the question as a nonviolent simple domain is so cool though lol.

I was kinda nervous for this episode as people use the honoured one panel out of context enough to try and say Gojo has a god complex which isn’t true but they made it so beautiful and it was enlightenment for him. He’s reached the point that he now knows how to become the Gojo we know physically but now we’ve got the last episode to show how he gets there mentally, which is honestly what I’m most excited to see for the emotional aspect between him and Geto. And as for Toji, I might be biased but I love him. He’s showing the consequences of the way the Zenin clan treats people like him and is a great foreshadowing of what Maki could one day become. It would have been so easy for her to become like Toji if she didn’t have her own goal of taking over the clan which by watching Toji she definitely could one day. The Zenin’s own hubris becoming their downfall for treating Toji and maki as lesser beings when in reality they could have been the strongest among them. And then his stuff with Megumi and mamaguro always pull on my heartstrings for what could have been a loving family for Megumi if his mothers death didn’t make Toji go back to being the sorcerer killer. This arc is a Greek tragedy.

I feel like gojos enlightenment or him being "high" came from the fact that he actually thought he was dead. Then he wasn't. Speaking from personal experience narrowly escaping a sudden and violent near death experience by your own judgement and skill can cause a weird and hard to explain emotional situation. It's like ecstatic pride but with the focus and hyper sensitivity of an adrenaline trip. Then there's a sense of fear. Not from others but of what you are capable of. I've also seen people get completely lucky, when others around them weren't. And that causes a very different kind of response. Some become avoidant, some control seeking, some just struggle with a tragic and unjustified survivals guilt. I feel like that's what this ark is going to explore with gojo and his spirit summoner friend. Or maybe I'm just projecting. Cursed energy is an expression of negative emotion though, and most of the characters seem to have pasts with some form of truama or cruelty so maybe that's the overarching theme.

Its interesting how Toji calls Getos curses 'riff raff' since its the exact same thing Geto says about them when he realizes his curses couldnt defeat Yuta in the movie. This one is a bit of a stretch but Geto's obsession with calling non sorcerers 'monkeys who cant use jujutsu' could have something to do with the "lesson" Toji was talking about while calling himself a monkey. Oh and as a little cool detail the chain Toji used is called the Chain of a Thousand Miles because if the wielder keeps the "end" of the chain hidden the chains can stretch as far as the wielder needs
