My issue with Sukuna’s characterisation is that it doesn’t make sense for him to change his ideals because they were never proven wrong. Sukuna’s selfish ideals about getting to the pinnacle of Jujutsu through only your own strength were never proven wrong, Sukuna at the end was still the pinnacle of Jujutsu. He in lost because for a large part of the fight he wasn’t taking it too seriously and ended up taking too much damage, as well as the fact he was in Megumis body. If he was serious right after the Gojo fight he could have speed blitzed and put a hole through everyone like he did Choso. Sukuna’s ideal were never really proven wrong and he is a very intelligent character that should be able to make that distinction, that’s why it doesn’t really make any sense for him to change his ideals because he lost due to other reasons.

​@@SasukeUchiha-vb2vy While it's true Sukuna still is the strongest the fact remains that he did lose, and to a group of people working together trying to save one of their own no less. So now that he is dead he has the chance to reflect and realize thta for all his strength, his ideology wasn't what won in the end. This is kind off related but I feel Yuta in Gojo's body was another way to show that Sukuna's ideology isn't absolute. Yuta became a monster, ignoring his attachment to Gojo and using his dead body as a tool, yet it failed. And in the end the one to finish of Sukuna was the guy that stood in complete ideological opposition to him.

@@johnboy4037 The only issue is that Sukuna could have beaten all the people working together if he just took things seriously from the beginning. Instead of toying with Yuji, Kusakabe, Ino and Higoruma if Sukuna speed blitzed them all like he did Choso the story would have been over right there. Sukuna is a very intelligent character and should be able to recognise the fact he died because he didn’t take things seriously, id be different if Sukuna was going all out and they still managed to team up and defeat him. In that case yes I’d make sense for Sukuna to change his ideology.

@@SasukeUchiha-vb2vywomp womp, could but wouldn’t as it was not in his character, he wanted Yuji to suffer, to show him that he will be the last one standing while everyone he cares about dies + he was weakened by Gojo so no, no speed blitzing everyone XD

@@SasukeUchiha-vb2vy He could but he didn't and either way he is dead now. Also let's not pretend that Sukuna himself didn't have a lot of luck while fighting the gauntlet (Judge man confiscating his tool instead of shrine, executioners sword dissolving right before he got hit)

Sukuna's ideals weren't simply about being the strongest, that was a result of his ideals at the time. His ideals were about living only according to his whims: if he dislikes something, he destroys it. If it amuses him, he throws it a bone. Fighting seriously from the beginning against Jujutsu High would be going against his philosophy, and it's when Yuji forces him to take things seriously that we begin to see Sukuna's defeat manifest both physically and philosophically

The thing is, the last chapters are best read as intended. Read together as a full volume and in that sense they fit perfectly together. Asking any single chapter to provide everything are ignorant of how hard finishing a story is. Yuji pops his domain and actually talks to Sukuna and shares his life with him, showing what he feels and giving him time to repent. It also gives us time to finally have Yuji mature and decide to embrace responsibility, even if he feels disgust for the person he is trying to help The final struggle, which is underpinned by Megami finally beginning to find his resolve, Sukuna finally having his ideology shattered that just being strong isn't enough. While a lot of folks were talking about Gojo, I personally was satisfied with everyone choosing to settle into their new respective status quo's without too much fanfare. After all, there is much to do and they would rebuild *together*, not just leaving it to a single pillar to hold up the crumbling sky. Yet Yuji would never forget Gojo and for perhaps the first time in his life, Megami laughed at one of Gojo's "lame" jokes. The only thing I'm really not happy with is Nobara. Yes, on paper it makes perfect sense, but the fact she was spoken around as a kind of "gotcha" surprise team up felt a little lame. There's no build up, trials or character build up surrounding it. It just happens all of a sudden then she's back hanging with the Boys. Sure it would make sense that she wouldn't allow being put into a coma and losing a eye phase her, but it's just kinda there. But maybe it was simply a sign that for one the Sorc's had actually won and earned some level of normality. Gojo would never see the world he was able to put in motion from this point forward, but the key thing was that he was satisfied that the future was in the best possible hands. Mostly anyway, there are clearly a lot of problems, including the American government kidnapping people and the remaining incarnated sorcery, but that clean up can be done in time.

@@lordbiscuitthetossable5352 I actually did read the last 7 or so chapters together in preparation for this video and even together they aren't that great. I didn't wanna talk to much about the negative aspects of the ending in the vid since I didn't want it to just sound like another "JJK fell off" type video but I will mention some of my gripes here. Nobara. I was certain that she would return so I have no complaints on that front and I like that the full gang is back together in the end but god damn does she feel wasted. All the pieces were there for her to be a great supporting character (fun personality, cool CT, great dynamic with Yuji) and then she just disappears for half the story and all that potential is watsed. Megumi. The fact that he did next to nothing in the final fight aside from creating a paddle really annoyed me. This is a guy who's potential as a sorcerer has been hyped up since the first arc and he never reaches that potential. And yea Meguna uses 10s to it's fullest but it's just not the same. Also, like Nobara, the fact that he was gone for such a big chunk of the story means he didn't get that much development as a character. Yuta in Gojo's body. Great concept, pretty bad execution. He domain fought Sukuna for a bit then flopped on the ground and next time we see Yuta he is back in his body with no consequences. I'm not saying Yuta should be the one to finish off Sukuna but at least have him do something of importance in that body or have it lead to smth else with all the body and soul shit. Chapters 269 and 270. The simple domain subplot is dumb and pointless and takes up most of chap 269, like I could see it being done as set up for a part 2 but we aren't getting a part 2 sooooo. And then 270 is reselving a bunch of nothing plot lines for minor culling game characters instead of focusing on the characters we actually care for. No Heian flashback. I arleady briefly mentioned this in the video but so many parts of the series could have been improved if we got a full Heian flashback showing Sukuna's backstory and maybe even some Kenjaku and Tengen stuff.
