My Juki DDL 5550-6 will sew leather all day. I build a belt/pulley system to slow mine down to make usable.

It can sew through both, but it would depend on how many layers. I would recommend a heavier machine like the Juki DDL-8700H or DU-1181N. We stock all three on our website. www.sewinggold.com
