Hello, Peggy Bray I have the tools to change over to the DDL 8700 but I have used it for heavy weight sewing only so far, doesn't sew light weight fabric very well so I only use it for heavy weight fabrics and things like that. I love mine.

Hi loved all ur videos, it’s so cute wen ur hubby was putting the table and machine together, loved the little giggles 🤭, then this video u are so scared with the machine speed, loved it 🥰 😂😂, I was planning to buy one but was worried for in case something goes wrong how am I going to send it to the manufacturer to repair it? Is this machine worth buying ? I just bought jenome HD9 it’s too noisy, does not come with a stand, flimsy threader, the needle cutter makes a bang sound wen used only 1600 stitches per min, please reply and let me know the size of the table thanks!!

Hi, I've just bought the 8700H & things have been going smoothly with the regular foot it came with however, my zipper foot for the 8700 model I got years ago does not seem to do well when going over webbing or fabric. When sewing with it, I am unable to backstitch and nesting begins to form at the underside of the fabric/material. Is there a specific zipper foot needed for the H model or are the parts interchangeable with the regular 8700. Seeing as though you have no problem using a zipper foot similar to the one I'm referring to on the machine in the video, do you have any troubleshooting tips for my specific issue? Anything would help as I have looked for hours trying to figure out the problem.

My Zipper foot is the same foot used on both 8700 & 8700H the feet are interchangable. If you are getting nesting then something else is wrong, Is your bobbin thread coming off in the right direction, also make sure it is secure in is case. It sound like the arm on your zipper foot may be to long check it with the foot that came with the H and see if the length on both feet are the same size. Other that those things I can't think of anything else that would cause this problem. Thank you.

@@justthegoodbits1 @justthegoodbits1 Thank you, I will compare lengths. I watched a video on presser foot pressure adjustment, is it possible that the presser foot pressue may be too low causing my fabric not to move through evenly and bunch up. If so, do you advise I twist the adjustment knob or leave it the way it is so that I do not further mess up anything. I'm scared to worsen the issue.

Glad you love your machine. Great video. Could you tell me what needle sizes you could use ? Thanks. Start from needle size number if you can.

For my Juki DDL 8700H I use DB x 1 #20 to #23 (134 #125 to #160) I have also used #18 and it works fine as long as the fabric isn't too thick or heavy. I found this information on page 3 under specifications in the Juki DDL 8700H manual that came with the machine.

I am curious...I have been debating for months now going back and forth between the 8700 and the 8700H. I was told by the dealer it can go down to a size 14 needle, but I like to make quilts from cotton. That just might be too big. What is the smallest needle u have used?
@justthegoodbits14 жыл бұрын
The smallest needle I have used is size 14 but let me add why I think you should go with the 8700 not the 8700H. The H only does heavy work well, quilting would work but piecing will not and it is not easy to do free motion quilting unless you have thick quilts. I only use the 8700H for heavy thick sewing because the lowest the foot length will go is still not low enough. In fact I purchased the 8700H with quilting in mind but since I do heavy sewing too (making hand bags things like that) so I still use it but not for quilting unless I am straight line quilting.

Hi, I'm interested in getting one of these machines, and I watched your video about assembling it. I was wondering, was the timing already set when you received the unit? If not, did you have to manually set the timing after assembly? Furthermore, now that you've had the machine for a few months, have you had any issues with it? What kinds of projects are you using it for? Thanks for the clear and informative videos!

Hello, The timing was perfect no problems with it at all. We purchased the Juki DDL 8700H which is a heavy duty machine so I use it for quilting and quilted handbag and any other heavy duty sewing I do.
