Excellent tutorial!!! Juki should pay you. I’m serious. The Juki videos are not good. You are a great teacher. I looked at multiple videos. This one is the best. I like how you threaded the machine, it was easy. I was about to have a nervous breakdown after looking at the videos. Glad I did no remove the manufacture thread- I would have been in a world of hurt. You broke it down and took the intimidation factor out it. Thank You!!!

I am thinking of buying a coverstitch machine so I can get that professional look to my sewing and the Juki is the one I’ve pretty much settled on. I would have loved to see what you did with the tension to get it spot on, I am scared of tensions. Every time I turn on my overlocker I say a prayer to the sewing gods that it won’t play up! ☺️
@Lelesdesigns Жыл бұрын
I didn't do anything to the tension. Though when I took it out of the box I took a picture on phone so I can remember how they had the tension set. Plus if you want to play with it you can always resort to picture if not happy with it.

Hi there! I was so excited to see this video as I have been eyeing this machine. Please consider not using music in the background of videos in the future. It is so distracting for some people. And for people that don't hear very well and have to turn it up the music just gets louder too. Thanks for hearing me out. Have a wonderful day!

Thank You for your feedback and yes this music is annoying. I am sorry for that. This was a video a I made four years ago and wish I did not use the music background. Though have learned to do away with it.

Ho! Ho! Ho! What a super nice gift for Christmas. And, knowing you, I'll bet there will be some other lucky recipients of creations from this machine. I agree about avoiding stretchy materials because of frustrations with a regular machine. I may have to put one of these machines on my wish list now. I love your coloring coding tip. Honestly, the threading always is intimidating. I often avoid my serger because of it. You did an awesome threading demonstration. That is amazing how handy each of the stitches are. That is amazing the clearance of the presser foot. It sure looks like a super nice machine. Juki should hire you to make more tutorials for them. Happy stitching!
@Lelesdesigns6 жыл бұрын
Thank You so much We Imagine. I have to say I am very happy with this purchase. I do the same avoid the serger cause its a pain to retread and never fails I always have to start from scratch to thread with the cover stitch you don't have that problem with the coverstitch. Though I am finding using the coverstitch and serger together I can make a pair of legging pretty quick. Thank You so much for your kind words. Your so sweet.

Thanks for this vid. I gave my self an early 60th (how did I get so old!?) bday present. Started sewing again, and I wanted more professional finishing results with knits. This machine is awesome. It sewed perfectly after first threading. It helps having had a serge and having some experience with the vagaries of overlocks. I have a Bernette 334DS overlocker (made by Juki). It is almost 3 decades old and still sews beautifully. I was comfortable buying another Juki. It is a perfect trifecta for overlock and sewing machine.

I like the video quality -it's so nice and clear! But I didn't learn what I needed. I would have liked it if you showed how one threads the machine (not just pulling the threads through). There will be a time when one doesn't have those to rely on and just pull on. There is one spot in the looper that Iooks like it can be threaded a couple different ways. You also could have shown HOW you adjusted your tension. I've had a coverstitch for 20 years and I just bought a new one- this one. I was hoping to get confirmation on the looper threading and help with the looper tension.
@Lelesdesigns3 жыл бұрын
Thank You! I am sorry I did not include this as there is a really good video already which shows these features. I was trying to show what was not available on KZbin already. If you can't find that video let me know and I'll point you in the right direction.

Very good teacher! Love the way you showed this coverstitch machine that I’m so afraid to use one day if I will buy this.. I thought too difficult to thread and to use maybe... but it gives me more interesting to have this machine one day.. I’m just wanna know what type or number of needle its using in knit fabric, for example?? Maybe you can make another tutorial videos about it Ma’am?.. And show the projects how you use this great coverstitch machine? I’m a new subscriber to learn from you about it and other people who wants to know too! I’ll wait for these new coverstitch projects videos! Thanks in advance!

Thank You! I am happy to hear you like the video. It does come with a pack of universal needles. If you are sewing Knit I would suggest getting overlock, stretch or jersey needles. I want to do a sewing tutorial with the coverstitch but a lot of my viewers are beginners and don't own a coverstitch. So I debate if I should put a video out. I just need to take the plunge and do it.

I like this machine too. I have the Bernina L220 which is the identical machine but sadly no longer sold by Bernina. I like your detailed approach and marking the thread posts etc but I'm rather puzzled why you only showed the technique of pulling through the threads? Very occasionally I've had thread jump or slip out of guide hooks and others have run out of thread or snap while sewing and then you're in trouble if you've only pulled through previously. Threading it properly is really not that difficult but there are one or two spots where new owners can go wrong so this would be really helpful to include in your video. :D
@Lelesdesigns5 жыл бұрын
Thank You so much. I have not yet come across a jump or slip on the Juki coverstitch. My Brother Serger is a different story happens all the time. If it does start happen perhaps that would be my next video idea. As far as running out of thread. I wish I could of added it to the video along with a few other idea but its best to limit the time in the video because people don't want to watch long video and the longer it is the harder to upload to KZbin.
@redz11154 жыл бұрын
Very helpful video as I unboxed my own 1500 this evening! One question, though: on the two different 3-thread samples, the words "narrow" and "wide" must refer to the distance from the edge of the fabric, and not the distance between the two lines of stitching, right?

Leledesigns I want to be able to make athletic leggings, sports bras, dog pajamas, bathrobes...would you suggest I start with a cover stitch or a serger. I am so confused😅
@Lelesdesigns4 жыл бұрын
when making leggings I like using my Juki coverstitch rather than my Brother serger. Though I think it really depends on what you prefer. I would say go to a sewing store and test them first ask the lady if you can test on knit material.
