I love it when jules sums up her entire career and life by having to resign in disgrace, do a 'Black Mink' ad, etc, etc! What's rather amazing is that I'm the same age as the characters portrayed in the film...and I knew. and was acquainted with people very like the characters in the movie! I became an instant and life long fan of Demi Moore, watching this movie ... Wait for it ... at the drive-in! When she played Madison in Charlie's Angels, I found her as captivating as I did watching her in St. Elmo's Fire!

She did a great made-for-TV movie back in 1988 called "Who is Julia?" You should look for it.

ABSOLUTELY!!! She never got the credit or the work she deserved. I met her once at a deli. She was super cool.

Then you HAVE to see Georgia. Fantastic film !! She plays the title character a wife and mother who became a well known folk singer who’s younger sister ( Jennifer Jason Leigh ) is a troubled drug addict who kicks around the alternative music scene and occasionally comes into Georgia’s life and turns it upside down. Mare does her own vocals and I had no idea she can also sing. Fabulous performances across the board and really intense portrayal of the sister bond.

Demi is so free in this movie.. different than many of the roles that followed. Nice work.

St Elmo's was too much like my life at that time! I loved it and always watch when it comes on no matter where it starts! I was the Bi and not quite as drugging version of Demi's character- LOL! So glad I am older now, as I don't have the energy for all that drama! Maybe that is why we get older.
