Jules, great video on a terrific series. I had Charles Ardai as a guest at my nyc pb shows years ago and it was great to meet him and some of his writers like Jason Starr, those were good old days! I love this series and collect them as well. In my opinion a real sleeper in the series is the Allan Guthrie book, a terrific writer! Also the Bruin and Starr books such a Bust, are great fun to read. Cheers.

Thanks Gary, I'll keep an eye out for those recommendations. I have about half the series so far and have really enjoyed what I've read. The covers are really terrific too🙂

I recently read 'Little Girl Lost' by the bloke that runs Hard Case Crime. Decent yarn. Didn't hold it against him for rejecting my offering a few months earlier. Anyway, I got it placed not long after. I aim to buy several of this series. My only criticism was that the cover of Aleas's novel had to be handled carefully or the pages felt like they were going to come out. Something I cannot abide as I, too, like to keep my books in good condition. I am at the stage of agreeing a cover for my book, set in Tokyo in 1990, and I favour a cover showing the femme fatale off in all her glory against a neon-infested Shinjuku Kabukicho backdrop. Very interesting video. I have subscribed.

I enjoy the Hard Case Crime books, excellent reads. Grifter's Game, Little Lost Girl, and the Confession have been my favorites so far. I have 50+ titles (with a couple of doubles because I don't have a check list 😜) Michael Crichton also wrote Eaters of the Dead (the movie the 13th Warrior) and Timeline (also a movie) but they're not the type of stories published by HCC, are they among the 8 books you referred to ?

Hi Erik, I'm jealous of your 50! I have about another 20 or so on the way in a nice job lot🙂 checklist in the description now🙂 I don't think those Michael Crichton are published by HCC yet.

The Hard Case Crime Wikipedia page has a list of HCC books, in order.

It does, sadly not very user/collector friendly. But I'm on the case, the hard case that is. I'll have a handy checklist soon🙂
