WE'RE BACK!! I hope you all enjoy the video. Keep in mind, this story is huge, so I had to leave out a lot of more technical details. I wanted to focus on Elizabeth herself and the real people she effected with her tomfoolery, rather than the financial/scientific details. There are tons of documentaries on that made by people who actually know what they're talking about lmao.

the "oh I've seen you on youtube" is the scariest 6 words you can say to a person.
@DrogoBaggins9873 жыл бұрын
Why are people so freaked out about that? You make videos and put yourself out there and try to get views and promote your brand. Then you get recognized and freak out? I once went to a convention that is for a pretty small community and there were many faces from YT there. I ran into this one lady on the convention floor and just said that I enjoyed her YT channel. After the convention she made a video telling about how it freaked her out. What the heck? It's a small community to begin with and you go to a convention and then get freaked out about someone recognizing you? Ridiculous.
@Laurasnewnightmare3 жыл бұрын
@@DrogoBaggins987 The problem isn't people that are fans, the problem is people that don't get it and then find us. It's sort of like the "Hey don't look at my drawing!" or "Don't read my journal". The idea of someone who doesn't understand people's art and then has to have it explained especially when its something like unfiction or ARG's because it's such an obscure thing is scary to people, and well this is not always the case sometimes people are just shy hope that answers you're rhetorical question -Matt
@DrogoBaggins9873 жыл бұрын
@@Laurasnewnightmare It wasn't a rhetorical question. It's because I think it's ridiculous (at least my experience with it was ridiculous) that I honestly want to understand that behavior. I can see that if I went to the grocery store and recognized someone who I only know from YT or other social media that it might freak them out to be recognized because they would have no way to know if I was a crazy stalker. But a convention is a totally different thing. I've met several people irl after just talking to them online and had some strange experiences so I decided to avoid doing that going forward. Anyway, thanks for your reply. Have a good day.

Though I personally live in a country with a large functioning public health system, that offers free medicine and treatment, the whole "late diagnosis" issue has personally acosted me multiple people that I knew. The doctors denied or were too slow to give them access to diagnosis, so many of them didn´t even get to know what was even the problem before they were late stage, which of course meant that in a few too many cases treatment at that stage could only postpone death. Can only imagine how its like over in the USA, where the money means all...

I don’t really mind Elizabeth using a voice which is deeper than might be natural for her. A lot of transpeople (especially trans women) go through vocal training to learn how to manually adjust their vocal patterns to get the voice they want. So I can’t really make fun of anyone for working to get a voice they prefer. Everything else about Elizabeth Holmes is horrible though.
@Aster_Risk3 жыл бұрын
I agree for the most part. I'm a woman and I have had to alter the way I act and speak at work to be taken seriously, which is something a lot of people experience. It's only weird in her situation in conjunction with all of the other characteristics of her personality and her actions.
@PungiFungi3 жыл бұрын
@@Aster_Risk you are just talking and acting like a professional. There is a vast difference in speaking in a different tone from totally changing your voice. I cannot trust anybody who speak to me in a phoney voice as it insults my intelligence as I usually know when they are faking it (Holmes' voice often sound strained, cracked and inconsistent), and insults me as a person because they think i am that shallow so they need to change their voice while speaking to me.

I’m binge watching now. I knew you had to have ADHD too. Rarely do I find someone who describes things to me in a way that I can relate to! I love it! Edit: I want to add that people faking test results in science has halted real progress in such a profound way. Take the study which claimed a certain protein caused Alzheimer’s and the people who tried for years and invested tons of money for a cure using ultrasound but failed because they were trying to remove an incorrect protein and they didn’t understand why it wasn’t working. It’s because the protein they were targeting was incorrect to begin with and this had caused us to just recently end up back in the same place, trying to use ultrasound to remove the correct protein finally. This this study is just now finally starting with the correct protein in mind so we now know the correct shape and how we can possibly break up the protein correctly. There is great hope and encouraging results with other studies using the same deep ultrasound to cure tremors in people. Research is looking good for this to also possibly work for addiction as well (which would rock because I’ve fought with addiction for many years). It’s just shit. So many people have suffered due to false research results. The guys who supposedly found the first protein they claimed to cause Alzheimer’s just wanted to see their names go down in history for some reason even if it wasn’t legit and to other people’s detriment even.

I don’t know if this had happened yet when you filmed this but one of her lead scientists at Theranos committed suicide because he was under extreme pressure to testify against Theranos and tell the truth against his coworkers under a court mandate. He was actually working to try to make Theranos work for years but it obviously was near impossible. His wife said he had been getting more stressed through the years working for Theranos and constantly got ignored by Elizabeth when he would tell her it was unethical to continue selling a product that doesn’t work. His name was Dr Ian Gibbons and it’s such a horrible position he was put in. Genuinely I hate Elizabeth Holmes so much because after it all, she didn’t even care about her employees- after he died his wife tried contacting Elizabeth and SHE JUST REQUESTED ALL COMPANY STUFF BACK FROM DR. GIBBONS AND THEN THREATENED LEGAL ACTION. 10/10 would throw her into a volcano
