Brilliant advice about an incentive for the purchaser with a little illustration at the front. For a KDP/ebook purchase, perhaps I would have a QR code somewhere near the back that would be a means for adding them to a mailing list in exchange for a personalized "something" delivered back by email (still trying to figure out what that something is ... maybe a personalized message from one of the characters or a bonus illustration "signed" by one of the characters). BTW, I love your glasses!!

I"m outside the USA in Asia and self publishing doesn't exist. I'm an English teacher (middle school, high school and university) so I have a ton of material to use. The problem is, I'm not an artist and I'm finding illustrating to be a huge problem. Many of the software for this is also blocked so I can't start an account. Love seeing how it should/could be done. Just trying to figure out how I can do it from abroad

I use Photoshop and InDesign, but there are other choices out there.

Hi! I use Daler Rowney Aquafine 140lb smooth. I'm very picky about how smooth it is! The cold pressed is still too bumpy for my liking. I think it's possible to use Bristol board as well, but I've not tried it yet. Thank you for watching 🤓

I think it can be completed in a year. It takes me 9 months to write, design, illustrate and format a 32 page book. If it your first time it may take longer because you will need to gain some new skills, but if you are focussed you can do it.

Hey Hey. I seek your opinion on pen names. I am almost ready to publish my first non-fiction work. My first book was my memoir. I will have published six books under my real name. I am considering using a pen name for my future children's books (I'm putting together another one as I speak). I have read that it is advisable to separate your public and real personas. Any thoughts?

Yes totally agree! It's a good idea if you are writing for different genres, that way it's less confusing for readers.
