Watched the Emmys last night. The actor who played Marcus is Rance Howard, father of director of Ron Hpward (and Bryce), who now looks like his father did in this episode. I still have trouble with that.
@gungho12844 ай бұрын
Definitely. I've seen some old behind-the-scenes photos from the Andy Griffith Show with little Ron (Opie) and his dad, who got a few bit parts on the show because he was always around. He looked a lot different back then. Not the frail old man we're used to seeing. It's always sus when parents push their kids into acting, but it did look like he was there to keep a close eye on his kids. Ron's brother, Clint, played Leon on the show, who had no speaking part and was always eating a PBJ sandwich.

It's gonna be weird if any of the real life kids if they Buffyverse cast start acting and we get exposed to this time passage more often.

@@sugardares On the Smallville podcast that Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum host Tom stated he ran into the actor who did young him, and that the actor who played Ryan was in-universe the age his character was supposed to look like. I also saw a onlne get together of some of the Buffyverse cast (can't remember what it was for) and didn't even recognize the "no longer boy" guy who played The Anointed One. Those moments are happening, they just aren't well known to many fans yet.

But it's also heartache and disappointment. And those are good things to avoid." Sometimes I forget how well written this show is...

This is such a fun one, the Buffyverse loves a good body swap story. It's always a treat to see 'Angel' being whacky, and you've got to love the whole misunderstanding surrounding Fred. Speaking of Fred, I think it's sweet that she went to the movies with Angel. It's cute that she developed a little crush on him, but I just hate to see her heart get broken. She's like Kaylee from Firefly - a ray of sunshine whom you just can't bear to see hurt. In regards to Angel finding out about Buffy being alive, I believe there's a comic set between this and the next Buffy episode that shows them being reunited. The crossovers are definitely fewer and further between now that the shows are on different networks, but I agree that Angel stands well on its own. The Buffy connections are just a bonus. Thanks for another great reaction, Jules!

I love the funny episodes. It seems like David Boreanaz got a chance to kind of act like Angelus, but not quite. In this one, not a whole lot of plot advances other than Angel getting the news that Buffy is alive. And also, Fred seems to be having a lot of fun, finally, but she's slowly realizing she can't be best buddies with Angel.

Angel has threatened Lilah before, but they never really ever went beyond that. Perhaps actually being bitten (although we know it wasn't really Angel) has gotten her to take him more seriously.

Don't forget, W&H have psychics in their employ. Lilah has probably already found out that wasn't actually Angel. Even if she doesn't, I don't really see the harm. They already hated each other. Lilah probably only slept with "Angel" because she hoped it would turn him into Angelus or would give her leverage over him.

Good Tuesday, Jules!💜 I had forgotten that Rance Howard was in this episode. A well known, low key very talented chill actor. A pretty humorous episode, many laughs, as Angel gets "replaced", and discovers the answer to all his problems - eternity! Cordelia - going to the gym to get some telephone numbers - she is a top notch investigator! 🤣🤣 And Lilah, who has just recently survived a vampire slaughter, jumps right back in. She sort of deserved that little nip. 😅 But poor, sweet Fred. Her room may have improved, from her dark, dank cave, but she still seems to be kicked to the curb quite often, maybe unintentional, but pretty sad nonetheless. 🥲 And then, once she is accepting of the loner Angel idea, Boom - "Buffy?" Let her get a little lift, then stomp her down again. 🥲 Small, useless trivial fact - Carpe Noctem (Seize the Night) is also the name of a song from a hard rocking musical, first performed the previous year, titled "Tanz der Vampire" - very popular. Written by the guy who wrote many Meat Loaf songs. 🤭 Have a marvelous Tuesday, Jules 💜🤗💜- I see it may be close to being safe outside, without a tie-on hat, over there. Calm breezes are always nice. Enjoy your work, your fun, your food and drink. Keep an eye out! 😉

Hello Tom 🤗💜 Goodness, it feels so good to have a funny episode every now and then! Honestly, I didn't realise how serious and dark most episodes of Buffy and Angel were. How little I knew before starting this journey 🤣 So an episode like this, I just LOVE IT! So many lovely moments in this one but oh goodness, LILAH? I am very, very worried about the repercussions from this! I do like her, but... maybe that little nip will keep her away for a while 😅 Calm breezes are VERY welcome! I've been observing many insect-feedings today, so the little one is definitely still there. Too small for me to see over the nest, but things seem to be okay FOR NOW! I'm heading to the bakery for a lunchtime treat so that's definitely the highlight of my Tuesday! Have a lovely one yourself, dear Tom 💜🤗

one of those episodes that is so fun but really not one you think of that much. Also Carpe Noctem might be a subtle nod to the first season of Buffy and the Carpe Diem conversation between Buffy and Willow.

"Have I ever told you you are a very beautiful woman?" Same line every time! I suppose it is because it is his philosophy that if it's not broken, don't fix it. I do have to admit, though, that I was a bit surprised that all of that ... let's call it "attraction"... from Lilah was there for Angel! And poor Fred! I think you were right about the crush she had. She was so happy and all too eager to go out with Angel again, only to have her heart smashed into little bits. Seize the night indeed!!

One thing we can be sure of in the the 'Buffyverse' is these shows loves Body Swaps/Personality swaps etc. Here of course we see Angel getting a dose of it, with the old man taking over his body. Funny scene with Angel whilst possessed thinking Wesley was gay, and his interactions with Gunn too. We get worried for Fred though, as his intentions are clear towards her. The old man 'gets some' of course with Lilah, and Fred walking in on them is cringing to watch. The old man of course possesses all Angel's powers in his body and is having a great fun time. Fred of course still has a massive crush on Angel at the end, but of course he drops her immediately when Cordelia tells him Buffy is alive. I think it was a reasonable episode, but in fairness very average.
