I would love more awesome female characters because the ones they do are corny and very underwhelming, it's becoming a creative joke , re casts are lazy , that woman Is a good actor but it's not about the person it's the role . Julia Garner as Shalla-Bal/Silver Surfer[8] clearly indicates She is from universe where she was chosen by Galactus to spare Norrin Rad and Zenn-La The fact that this film will take place in alternate 1960 Futuristic universe makes it free from baggage of explaining how are F4 not in Earth 199999.Maybe she is Silver Surfer of that universe. All of them you get to play with them for a while but the next day your parents hide all the presents in the basement and don't tell you when you're next able to play with them, then instead of hiding all the presents in the basement, the parents burn them all in front of their sobbing kids. This is ridiculous for a lot of reasons, uh, mainly because they literally show you Thanos in this movie. you know, uh, the other movie we saw Thanos in Infinity War. Th3Birdman EWW CinemaSins Dune :Dr Kynes scene - this is another instance of this film calling back to something from the 1984 Dune as this exact thing happened in that film only Dr Kynes was wider and male-ier . I do want to point out the irony of this character not causing the so-called anti-woke crowd to go apeshit like they always do when a character was made black or female. it's almost like race swaps don't matter if the character's race isn't integral to the character especially when they didn't even know anything about the original character.

Can CBR or anybody give an example of how the MCU specifically has leveraged gender to tell a better story? I don't think there's much about the silver surfer that is gender specific so this change by itself doesn't bother me by itself. I don't think the MCU has ever been interested in leveraging diversity to tell better stories. We at best get some posturing and virtual signaling. @SirsasthNigam. Your examples are trash, as no one cares enough about those characters. Although there was controversy surrounding Tilda Swinton's casting as the ancient one. You must have been in your mum's basement when that happened. Silver Surfer is a legacy character and the most famous and recognisable iterations, are of him as a man. This is what we all think of, when thinking of this character. The Silver Surfer makes sense as a man, his story is very compelling and deserves to be told better than it was, in Rise of The Silver Surfer. I care if this character is a man and Disney know that fans will care. They just don't give a f***.

That doesn't mean this is how the MCU should introduce the character. There was no need for this character to be female. The male version, the most famous and recognisable version hasn't had his story told properly. Rise of The Silver Surfer was garbage and they wasted a great character. You really don't understand comics my friend the whole point of the discriminatory situations were to bring light to the inequality by changing race or gender you are diminishing the history of the character and who the character is.
