The fact that he believes that (a), Bin Laden was responsible for 9/11 and (b), Putin deployed a chemical weapon, Novichok, in Salisbury exposes his confirmation bias. The _fact_ is, a man whom believes such things cannot possibly correctly identity the enemies of humanity with any accuracy; he thinks that the _actual_ enemy is a friend! A complacent and apathetic population - Check! Contempt for the ruling class - Check! Indoctrination with Marxist ideology on an industrial scale - Check! A World War - ??? A global pandemic - Check! A Bolshevik coup - ??? It looks to me as though we are heading toward 1917 but on a Global scale and _that_ should send a shiver down the collective spine of humanity. And _that_ is the war we must prepare for. If our generation fail to prevent this then humanity could be plunged into a Dark-age from which it may take centuries to emerge.

Julia's question as to who is doing this and where did it come from is answered in great detail in James Lindsay's recently published book "Race Marxism". And not just critical race theory but gender marxism, feminist marxism (a specific type), decolonial marxism etc etc. It is all marxism but instead of economic class, what has been elevated to the top is specific political identity markers. Lindsay is, IMO, the leading expert on this. He has done the thorough depth reading and analysis of the movement (critical social justice). He knows the history, the ideologies, the activism and understands the basis of the current destructive, corrosive attack. His book neatly dovetails into Murray's book and I highly recommend it.

The 3 main threads for all this are: 1) Judith Butler and her ideas that gender is performative and gender is a social construct. She was trans. 2) Kimberlé Crenshaw came up with the idea of Intersectionslity which grew into the victim Olympics. 3) Peggy Mackintosh and her book on Unpacking the invisible knapsack which pushed the idea of white privilege. (I think they're all feminists so hate white men.) All of these things are taught as solid facts when they are just philosophical ideas. I can't help wondering WHO is financing the research in universities on this topics as they all plainly sow division and contention in society.

Do you really believe this subject is purely about facts/research and there is no room for debate? I know this forum very much attracts like minded people and I won’t deny that I am not of the same mindset. I am however very much trying to listen to both sides of the discussion. So polarising to be closed to debate.

It gives me hope when I hear such common sense. We have people risking their lives to get into this country, we have countries who have been at our throats because they wanted our vaccines, we have countries who can now drink clean water because of our charitable nature, yet we are a racist dispicable nation! It's no wonder we have a mental health crisis, we have made people feel guilty of having self compassion and pride.

I don’t agree with everything Douglas Murray says or. JHB but I think you both have hit on the essential truth of a civilised society. You engage and discuss rather than dismiss and destroy. Identity politics is destroying our society. We need to get back with engaging with ideas rather than identities.

Thanks goodness for people like Douglas and Julia. These people love themselves but they aren't very smart. So they find it useful to have a single low resolution explanation for all perceived evils. It's such a low IQ way to look at the world and that's why they do it. To sound clever.

Contrary to Douglass's claim that colonialism is taught in schools. Nick Gibb the school minister in 2021 rejected compulsory lessons about the Empire and the slave trade by claiming they would risk lowering “standards”.
