Labour, calling 11 year old grooming/rape victims prostitutes. Labour, selling off the gold reserves at Rock bottom prices. Labour, leaving nothing in the coffers for the next generation. Labour, that would do anything and everything just to be popular around the world while it's own people suffer. Labour, that would of tide us up to Europe over vaccines when we did it better ourselves, countrys paying billions and received nothing. Labour, that isn't even any good at being the opposition, just goes along with everything the Conservatives wants, then cries about it. Labour, that changes policy as much as the wind. Labour, that's never had a female leader! And has to have short lists for the females they have! At least the females in the Conservatives got there by merit. What planet are " you " on? Those in power say everything is good, those in opposition say it is not and that when they get in they will sort it out. If they wanted to do the best for the country they could share ideas and make it work , going over the decades when it comes to voting some ideas labour have seem OK and some the conservatives have are good , yet whoever gets into power never seem to get anything done , they all skim money off the top no matter what, labour might lower taxes but you can be sure they will get money from us some other way. Coming back to johnsons period in power and he had the pandemic to deal with , unprecedented, could have shown the country how good this government could be , instead he lied , cheated and scammed this country throughout, personally I would see him and a few others in prison. However if labour was in we would have had severe lockdowns , millions more immigrants and the country would be worse off , so no side wins and the only losers are us , again. We have become a US system of only two parties , as people and voters we desperately need to look at alternatives, we need to stop the idea of being only conservative or labour voters because the idea of what both parties are have gone , labour have become a weird woke far left party who want to see 15% of the population thrive while the rest of us suffer under ridiculous woke laws, but the conservatives no longer have a right wing view point , they too have shifted to the left , you can no longer trust they will do the right thing for us , wokeness is thriving. I will never be what I regard as far right , everyone who wants to work here and pay tax and wants the best for this country should be looked after , same with disabled people , but what I won't have are people turning up with zero to offer , no identification etc... Policing would radically change , their training would be tougher , they would need to know the law , no more policing based on "suspicion" and therefore wrong arrests, everything would be on Intel and spotting the right people doing crime , more plain clothes surveillance and more police flooding areas, not for petty stuff , just to unnerve communities of gangs , then when Intel and evidence is gathered I would smash the gangs up and bring in the main players No point in random stop and searches if the coppers attitudes are going to create angry neighbourhoods and excuses of racism , once surveillance and Intel has been got , no crying wolf can stand up to it. Money wouldn't be given to France or rwanda if its not used , I would send in enforcement over to France and do their jobs for them by slashing the dinghies and stopping the crossings at the source , I dont care if macron likes it or not , the guy has taken the piss. Innocent people need to stop being treated as the criminals , money needs to be spent on the main thing we all need , emergency services , any unnecessary spending would be reduced to make the NHS work better , better policing and better wages for firefighters. Anymore striking from certain sections would see more migrants doing their jobs for less , either be paid a fair amount of money for a fair amount of pay or eff off , and that would go to anyone, if migrants are here , if you don't want the work they will do it and we will save money.

High gas prices are a product of restricted supply but high demand. Supply has been deliberately restricted by Net Zero policies, and before that the Climate Change Act. Further, demand for gas is high because 'renewables' have repeatedly failed, hence the markets turn from unreliable wind and solar to 'stuff that works', namely gas. (And coal in other parts of the world) Those are the facts. Russia hasn't helped but as JHB says, UK energy strategy should be resilient in the face of global events. Net Zero is a TOTAL failure.

Politicians love a crisis, it justifies their existence...neither side will actually do what is required to SOLVE the problem. They will tinker around the edges spend a load of money and hand the bill to the public. Then start fracking ASAP and build more gas power stations, then plan nuclear longer term.

We have hundreds of coal colliery’s in the Uk such as Ollerton, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire and all lot of the East Midlands etc which we could open again. They were closed in the ‘80’s because it was more expensive to dig it up here than buy it from Russia. Times have changed and in the short term it’s a resource just sitting there. Especially as a lot of our current power stations are fossil fuel powered and it’s going to take ten years to get new nuclear stations up and running.

Reopening coal mines and building power stations which can burn coal is not a short term solution. Building the infrastructure of a mine, training the miners and then doing the same for the matching power stations will take many years even if they start tomorrow.

You know how long it takes and how much it costs to re open a coal mine do you. Add elf and safety, equal opportunity employment, positive discrimination, environmental litigation etc it will takes years cost a fortune and will be blocked by every greenie in the country. What company would ever invest capital in re opening a coal mine faced with all these risks? They would be better putting it on the favourite in the 2.30 at Kempton!

@@davidjma7226 all you have said has always existed and does exist today for North Sea gas extraction and fracking which is currently happening. We have a recession, potential mass unemployment, a natural resource just sitting there on Uk soil and you want to list all the reasons for doing nothing. I grew up in that area and know first hand of a millionaire in the 90’s who bought two Pits and made a profit until the press and unions wanted to renegotiate their pay agreement. It doesn’t hurt to try it and see. Someone once said don’t bring me problems bring solutions! If I listed all the things that could go wrong in my day I wouldn’t get out of bed.

@@johnmusgrave3179 I did not suggest building new fossil fuel power stations - please reread my comment. The war has created a shortage in coal and gas for our present power stations which compromises of the minority of energy suppliers in the Uk at present. It’s quicker and cheaper to reopen an existing coal mine in the Uk than waiting potentially over seven years for the war to end or a nuclear station to be built. It was a suggestion as an interim which I feel should be considered. Rather than waiting for someone else to put an idea forward and shooting it down at the first negative issue.

I think the optimum word there is ‘loving’. If your bought up in a dysfunctional 2 parent family then quite frankly your more likely to be twice as messed up. I was raised by a single parent and feel I’ve grown up to be a more grounded individual than a lot of my peers from 2 parent families.

@@TheAffrojutty Really pleased for you...You sound like you had a very special parent. To make a realistic comparison we must compare like with like....Surely a loving 2 parent family is preferable to a loving 1 parent family? The statistics show that MANY more kids from single parent families struggle and get into trouble than children from happy 2 parent families. Cultures that have a high incidence of single parents...suffer disproportionately from crime and poverty. (eg: Black folk in the USA) I was lucky to have an excellent father and mother fig....it has helped me sustain a 40+ year marriage...and pass on keys of successful relationship to our three children. Very best wishes - G

Why? The UK energy market is broken. Electricity is sold in a market in which the price of electricity is dominated by the price of natural gas which is largely used to produce it. Renewably generated electricity fetches the same price as fossil fuel generated power.

Okay, families can look like anything, but can we perhaps promote two parent families, would that be so terrible? We don't need to demonise anyone, but we want to be sure children can get proper influence from both sexes. Easiest way to do that is to stay together, work on the bedroom stuff instead of looking elsewhere, that sort of thing. You don't necessarily need both parents, but you absolutely DO need both sexes.
