You should give it back to Kris again, in order to spray a nice clear coat on it, so that your artwork will last even under heavy funky groove pounding!!!

A real luthier would do their own headstock. There's more to be a luthier than screwing pre fab parts together.

I love mine, great playing and sounding bit of wood. finished with tru-oil and made a black mex p guard fit just! bit neck heavy but I've got a high mass bridge on the way that should balance it out moderately.

I really like the bass! If it was going to remain white, I would substitute a tortoiseshell pick guard But, since you did such a fantastic job of painting, I would not change a thing. The bass kinda reminds me of the Stratocaster George Harrison painted for Magical Mystery Tour! Kris is an excellent craftsman! and you are a very tasty bass player, even when you are "noodling" you play some very cool stuff.

The whole time I was thinking someone give her a powered screwdriver and then you mentioned it :D Nothing against your painting skills but it did look pretty good in plain white, the playing at the end was icing on the cake. Amazing how good the bass sounded too!!

Something you might consider (if you haven’t already) put a jazz neck on there to lighten the load. Did that with my kit bass. Like it a lot better that way.

Yep, those P-bass style basses have a down to the ground dive effect, so thick and heavy

Hm.. Might want to do the shape of the head before you mount everything? And you can use a litle pice of wood betwin machine heads and metal hammer when you tapp them down. But anyway, youre a bass goddess! :-) Have a nice weekend. Oh.. allready done with the bass.

Very good work, Julia! But take care! Ten years ago I bought a guitar kit like that, but the seller didn't tell me that building guitars is an addiction! Since then I don't know how to stop to build solid guitars, acoustic guitars, bass guitars, classic guitars, mandolins, etc...
