This truly is incredible how it’s a specific set of clicks to help create words. If that’s how this language works. Really shows how some languages can be vastly different in our wide expanse of human biodiversity. @worldwideworldwide41733 жыл бұрын
@@thegreatestkhan yes. It’s highly important to throw in colonization because it’s the same reason why thousands of languages are also still disappearing now from generation-to-generation. It all started with colonialism that involved the establishment of a centralized foreign authority within a stolen territory run by colonial official. Portuguese, Italian, French, Spanish, and English are not languages native to Africa, yet they are official languages in African countries only because of colonialism. The history is very important to throw in. This video itself is an example why.

With that reasoning one could say that middle eastern languages are not native to Europe but they are rapidly increasing..give it another 100 or so years and the middle eastern languages, culture, and religion will supplant European traditions..but I'm sure you're ok with that. My biggest question is why this did not transfer/evolve/merge into Germanic, Vulgar Latin, Greek? Surely, as even today, we integrate different dialects to our languages as to where we are and what we hear. How did the "clicks" not find a way into more spoken language?
@jayrizzle92262 жыл бұрын
Because it just sounds too annoying to most people. It's similar to how someone smacking when they eat gets on most people's nerves.
@mememachinexp05182 жыл бұрын
It did evolve, just not necessarily in the way you think. The languages you mentioned all share a common ancestor in Proto-Indo-European, which, as the name implies, did not spread to ancient Africa so they would really not have had a chance to mix with the culture until trade (and later colonialism) came into full swing. Xhosa, however, borrows a sizable amount of vocabulary from Khoisan, which is one of the oldest languages in the world and is where they got the clicking consonant- similarly to how English gained French loanwords during the Great Vowel Shift. It all depends on how you look at it.
most click languages are isolated from all langauges you speak of. they were until late into history, about the mid 1800s.

Ever hold up a pointer finger and shake it in a no no no no fashion and make a clicking sound?? Like with the meaning of uh ah ahhh sort of that hard ch ch ch ch ch (click click click click) I wonder now where does that originate from? Could it be connected? Or something goes not quite right or are annoyed and we make again that hard single "ch" / click... So even in english we can and do produce a click.. But its more about an emmotion than an actual letter of the alphabet..
