The savage glee with which she shattered the illusions of the uninitiated as she proclaimed "Pig guts!" was every bit as delicious as that sausage. "Oh! How horrible!.Well, you've been eating it all your life." Iconic!

Delightful and incredibly informative as always, and no punches pulled. Love you always Julia Child! I must confess that I have never eaten sausage that hasn't been browned in a skillet!

This is absolutely delightful! 🍴✨ The charm and expertise make learning about French sausages so much fun. Her passion for cooking is inspiring, and she truly makes gourmet cuisine feel approachable. Bravo to a timeless culinary icon! 👩🍳

Intestines I think is what sausage is encased in. Yes it sounds nasty but it’s just skin, and let’s face it we ARE eating flesh. I adrore her and I hate I never met her. It’s so ironic that television producers found her off putting! She was 6 feet tall!! Built like a football player and had that fruity speech and was FAR from being the ideal candidate for tv! Nevertheless audiences LOVED HER. She was funny and down to Earth and while speaking French and teaching French cooking she never one time talked down to her audience. When she dropped her chicken on the floor back in the pot in went! No one will know! lol..she used a blow torch to scorch cheese on onion soup! She was a character. What an American icon.

Could you make the video a little louder, please? My phone is on high volume, but the volume of your video is rather low. I do enjoy Julia's cooking show. 🙂

@@MIKECNW her husband and her friends were known to be behind the counter handing her things! They didn’t have a big budget in fact the first shows were produced by her. She had money from a wealthy family and got a generous allowance from her dad. She paid for the food and brought everything to the studio. Friends and husband Paul Child were all hunkered down behind the counter in the early shows! lol 3 people I think? She wasnt paid at all. It really took a lot to get it going but it took off!

@@jeffreymartin6369 I'm surprised to hear about her dad. In the American Experience it was mentioned that he didn't like Paul and when the PBS website had their own message boards someone who's mom was friends with Juila since childhood and had the good fortune to meet her before she became famous claimed that she rarely visited home probably as a result of her dad's disapproval of Paul. I also noticed the step ladder as the camera showed her putting water in the casing.

@ yes he thought married her for money and many people thought he was gay. He was an artist and a poet who fell in love with Julia for herself not about her looks. Her dad I suppose couldn’t understand that. They were intellectuals who didn’t even own a television until she started doing tv. The odd couple! Paul was not fey I don’t think but far from the sports loving man’s man that I guess her dad was.
