I know the first Bring It On resonated so well with me as a young Black girl b/c the whole story is about this team of young Black girls having their originality, style, and hard work stolen by rich white girls (I know it was big red who did the plagiarism, and that when the rest of the team found out their routines were bitten, they tried to fix it by FINALLY creating their own shit)! And that in the end the Clovers, after doing it on their own and not accepting any White Savior help for the Toros, finally got the recognition they deserved! The first movie had an underlying cultural statement to make. Same thing with the 3rd Bring It On, when Hayden has to leave get cushy rich white suburb to go to an "inner city school" (poor and black), it's a cultural shock frfr! She learns how different the lives they lead are, and what loyalty really means. Again, this movie had a deeper message. PLUS, this movie had baby Solange AND baby Rihanna! Idk what the other 4 hot mess movies were going for 🤷🏿♀️🤷🏿♀️

The lingo used in the older movies was good because they were original and it wasn’t overdone. It was applied appropriately and wasn’t drilled in. I could understand the words “cheerocracy” and “cheertator” existing in an urban dictionary, where as “cheermiliated” and “cheersmacked” sounds like words that they “needed” to make in order to make cheering seem like an actual sport. It’s a sport, you don’t need to make up words that have the word cheer shoved into it.

you KNOW this movie is the trash choice of the franchise when they can’t even start the movie right. Every bring it on movie starts with a dream sequence. I know you said there was one in the middle of the movie, but it bugs me that it wasn’t in the beginning. I honestly thought this movie was going to start with a dream sequence because of how bizarre it is for some rival team in mask to hack some cheer team’s performance. I couldn’t take it seriously and stopped watching after no dream sequence. Y’know, aside from it being totally lame and I don’t think I could stand even watching half of it! So thank you, Julia! What made the original bring it on it's because it tackled alot of things. The vapidness of conforming to being a category like cheerleader, nerd , or outcast. The white cheerleaders stealing from the inner city chicks bt understanding each other but coming to understand each other because they love what they do so much. They felt they had Soo much fun amazing satire. As well such good energy and music as well cheers. Everything else became just an emptier shell until this dumpster 🔥. As well the intial movie had enjoyable protagonist even Big red was a great villian in her own way

You should cover the Death Note Netflix adaptation. It's pretty bad, especially compared to the original anime. It's kind of gory though, so, there's that.

I didn’t even know they made a sixth movie. That’s no shocker for me though. It took me years to realize there was a fourth and fifth. So for no reason at all, I’m going to rank the movies from best to worst for me... 1. Bring It On: obviously the original was the best because it was a fun movie to watch and it introduced me to my girl-crush Gabrielle Union, lol. And when I was a teenager, I despised cheerleading, but this movie helped me open my narrow-mindedness to the fact cheerleading should be considered a sport. 2. Bring It On All or Nothing: just an overall fun movie to watch with likable characters you wanted to see win the competition in the climax. 3. Bring It On Fight to the Finish: while I could rank it lower because I didn’t care for the cheerleading storyline too much, I actually had fun watching it... probably due to Christina Milian (who I like) and Holland Roden (who my soulmate friend likes). 4. Bring It On Again: eh, this one was still fun to watch, but not as fun for me to have repeat views as much as the other three. I liked that it was cheesy though and tried to sort of make it their own movie. 5. Bring It On In It to Win It: couldn’t even get passed 30 minutes into the movie. 6. Bring It On Worldwide Cheersmack: haven’t even heard of it until this video. Lol. Doubt I’ll check it out.

Wow, I never even knew that a fifth sequel existed, but I'm starting to think that it's not entirely a negative thing. I feel that they should have stopped after the first three installments.

I don't understand why they didn't just let the actor playing Hannah keep her Irish accent, since she was so bad at maintaining the American one. Like all they'd have to do was just add some throwaway line about how she came to the US for college or because an American cheer coach recruited her or something like that - it changes nothing about the plot, it quickly explains her accent, then no one focuses on it anymore. Even her just having an Irish accent with no explanation is completely believable. Instead, she alternates between two accents for 90 minutes and ends up sounding neither Irish nor American, but more like an alien who has analyzed every native English dialect in its computer-brain and mishmashed it all together into an accent no human has ever had.
