Thank you for covering this. Mr. Assange rarely gets spoken of in my media of choice but strangely consistently use the stories WikiLeaks exposed as examples for their lessons or arguments. Julian Assange is a world wide hero and glad to see him reunited with his people. Ma Cualli Ohtzintli 🙏

Que viva Julian Assange! The truth hurts and educates, so there is the continued drive to suppress it. What he uncovered/compiled was nothing new. The US and other countries have been all over, in our still colonized world, both overtly and covertly. We have to remember to be critical thinkers and also need to work to build a better world.

Long Live Julian Assange and freedom to speak the truth or reveal the truth. Could you kindly turn off that background noise.
People act like Julian Assange didn't bring this on himself due to his arrogance. Have they forgotten how many lives he endangered with his recklessness?

He never "endangered" anyone, the government itself admitted it.

His attorneys are preparing to argue the precise opposite in his bid for a full pardon. We'll see.

Killing innocent people is fine, hiding that is fine, but exposing that has endangered other people? What???

Why did you choose "literati," as part of your channel name? Literati, in any historical survey that I'm aware of, represents a class that seeks sociopolitical dominance through controlling the apparati of cultural dissemination. In China, the literati were responsible for over two thousand years of classism, misogyny, and nepotism. I'm horrified by the lack of historical and cultural criticality in the new left.

Literati is a plural noun denoting those who seek art and education. It is preceded by Latina. I chose both names as they counter so many stereotypes and are meant to inspire festive celebration of learning. 📚 🎉😊

@latinaliterati No offense, but it's an ideologically loaded word. Even in the Western tradition, it's grounded in institutionally controlled access to cultural capital. Using this word is almost the opposite of decolonisation.

@@latinaliteratiWhat? It's a word that historically oppressors have used to describe and demarcate themselves as culturally superior. I get what you're trying to do, but there's already a cultural nuance to the word, and it's not emancipatory. It's a form of reification.
