Amy Goodman fairly deserves the Nobel Peace Prize. She has devoted her life to the broadcasting of the truth to the people of the world which is no small task. Her obvious love and deep care for those who have been silenced and lack a voice is profound and cuts to the core of every world religion and philosophy worth it’s salt. 💗 🦋

I think part of it is she reports on war AND peace. The world is harsh and bleak in these modern times, but when we read and consume as many good, positive, progressive and resistant stories as we do war-focused, negative and hurtful, we see there is soooo much resistance in the world, despite the situation. I would imagine that continues to bring her hope. It continues to bring me hope, despite being so pained by the negative news I consume. Balance

True that @Cristina Albuja. Sad to see how this margaret figure responded...seemed to have missed the point. Julian Casablancas might know more than some of these large media anchors, or certain issues. Fact that he's interviewing Amy Goodman vs Anderson Cooper shows that. We ALL have knowledge to share, including artists, musicians, farmers, garbage collectors, etc. Independent media from those on the frontlines, that was kinda the whole point of what she was saying, loool. Love seeing artists get involved to use their platform to try to make the world a better place, Julian helped turn me on to Chris Hedges and Howard Zinn (who have changed my life). It’s even more badass when they’re really unique and talented musicians who have changed me life in a more romantic way (thinking of you Jack White), helps give me hope seeing I’m not alone in worrying about this type of shit (ya know like environmental collapse, massive social unrest, historic levels of inequality, mass incarceration, endless wars, and corporate grip on the methods of power and action to confront any of these issues).

Tyranny really foreshadowed 2020, and Virtue felt like a prequel , it was like if Marty Mcfly had dmbed it down to the audience so they could catch up. Then Julian took time off to make medicore millenial dad rock album with the Strokes. TYRANNY is a masterpiece and most of us were not redy for it in 2014, in a post 2020 world . ... MR CASABLANCAS give us another one! I mean who tf is writting lyrical masterpieces that take from AYN REID (Johan Von Bronx) , Carl JUNG (Crunch punch) , RUMI ( Human Sadness) and putting it on an eclectic album. We talk about how geniuses like Mercury and Cobain are gone..but we still have JULIAN CASABLANCAS hitting us with Kubrick/Mckenna like lyrics..we don't need another Strokes album nostalgiing about the 80s. WE NEED THE VOIDZ
@salfromthego4 жыл бұрын
@@robroux5059 Virtue was a huge letdown, maybe Julian had to dumb it down so the listeners could catch up, or maybe since The Voidz signed to RCA for Virtue they couldn't make the music they wanted like they did when they released Tyranny on Cult Records, either way we need new music from The Voidz, I'm pretty curious to see where their musical attack is going
