I don't know which blows my mind more: Susan's incredible game (with an added anagram), or the fact that 40% of the contestants don't know how to shake their heads.

If you have shaken your head for the tenth time you want to shake things up a little bit. And if you think about it nodding is also just shaking your head. So it's totally understandable why they tried nodding instead of shaking, even though they of course know how to shake their head...

That 'One-off' Task ranks right up there along with Josh Widdecombe counting the contents of several cans (Series 1), Mark Watson's 'cheeky' texts (Series 5), and Mel Giedroyc having to blow up, and then hide the giant ball (Series 4)! Bravo Susan!

While turning the egg timers on their side stops the sand and thus triggers the punishment, nothing in the task required them to turn the egg timers back over once they ran out. Just let them all run out (or turn them on their sides), serve the 50 second punishment, and then ignore them for the rest of the 20 minutes.

I thought of turning them over while they were still going. That way they never would have stopped. But your way is probably better.

@@sveniuszyour way is genius for someone who could multi-task "drawing" and looking. For someone who needed to put full attention into "drawing", then perhaps the "take the 5 x 10 second penalty all at once" would be better. Both excellent lateral thinking though, which surely would've impressed the Taskmaster...

I beleive the argument was as long as the sand is not moving you must do the punishment.

@@Cryten0Nope. It just said if any egg timer stops you must stare at the camera and shake your head for 10 seconds. No requirement to restart the timer or to continue the punishment beyond the 10 seconds.

did you watch the clip? Sue tries that at 1:30 and Alex says that the sand is stopped, and so she has to do the nodding. Just because it's not explicitly said in the task doesn't mean Alex will allow it

“What sort of people enjoy this programme? Is it students?” Well, I got into it aged 15 and am now 23 and still into it, but then my dad is in his fifties and loves it so, yes and no.

Why do they keep turning the sand timers over when they stop? The task doesn't say they have to, they're just making it more awkward for themselves. 😂

I hadn't heard of him before TM but really liked him. I also kinda want him and Susan to team up for a project, I think they could do something really interesting together! (it might be one of those things that's very marmite - love/loath with no middle ground, but I think it's worth the risk)

Did It say anything about restarting the timers once they ran out? It only stops once, ten seconds each and you can forget them completely. knock them all over at once and you just have one 10 second pause.
