This was an era when, if a band/artist had a single out, they would do the rounds on all the TV shows from Wogan (5 shows a week( to Top Of The Pops (once a week but the biggest) to the Saturday morning kids shows. It was standard, common practice. No biggie for someone like JC

Ha ha ha... well spotted. I saw Julian Cope many times but the best gigs were when Chris Whitton (Whitten?) played drums for him. Mike Joyce replaced him - I think Chris went to play with McCartney but anyway, Mike Joyce was SOOOOO slow playing live. I couldn't stand it.

Mike Joyce was totally unsuited to playing Cope's stuff, especially live. Couldn't stand it - he sounded like a Duracell bunny with dying batteries.
