I think that there is a very fine line between love and hate. Personally, I believe that you can accept someones actions without forgiving them. I try to believe that doing so can help you to move on. I tend to think that the hurt will always be there, it's simply a matter of how you choose to deal with it. Julian may not be 100% like John but he still is his son. He will ALWAYS be John's son and I believe that his father truly did love him. Sadly, he just didn't know how to show it. I know how he feels...my father didn't know how to show it either. He's not alone. I tend to think that Julian DID learn from Johns pain, even if he didn't want to. He was worried for a dang good reason in my book! John's pain, created Julian's pain but I'm pretty sure that Julian knows on some level that John did not hurt anyone on purpose. I'm guessing but Julian probably could have forgiven his fathers actions if he had lived and were given a chance to prove that what he said was infact true. One can never truly know though. Personally, I would not forgive a father who treated me worse though, unless he proved from his actions that he changed. Even than, I personally would probably only be able to accept that change, etc. I don't know that I could forgive it but hey to each their own. I know that I have been abused and wouldn't forgive my abusers.. Personally, I accept some things yet but some things I don't see as ones worthy of forgiveness. Honestly I personally believe that those who are harmed that way tend to lie even to themselves though. John Lennon was NO acception because he was infact a person. Just as Julian is no acception and was hurt by John. At least his mother stood up for him..LUCKY! Sadly, you NEVER truly know if someone who is talking about peace, love and kindness TRULY has that in their lives though. That doesn't mean ALL of them are bad though. It's simply naive to assume they are all good. All in all Julian's life is Julian's life... just as his pain is his pain, etc. there is no need to debate about it. I always felt bad for Julian, and Cynthia. I was a fan of John Lennon, and the Beatles, but I think as a person John had a lot of shortcomings. The worst was deserting his son Julian. He should have known better. He felt abandoned when he was a child, so he should have realized how he was affecting Julian, and had some love for his son. He let the manipulative Yoko control him, but how he treated Julian was his own responsibility. He didn't have to allow Yoko to keep him away from Julian, but he did, which would suggest a totally self-centered personality. He should have cared more about Julian.
