Thank you Julian. Awareness helps. I’m glad you were able to be there for Lucy. I know I’m not alone in finding myself wishing for the end. Often. We keep trying. SLE takes everything but by bit until the end is all you have to look forward to. But by bringing awareness to lupus maybe friends and family will start understanding more. Staying in our lives more. Yes, Julian Lennon, lupus and "more comfortable.....longevity" depends on just the DIAGNOSIS of lupus. I have met 2 persons who have been diagnosed with lupus at much different ages. The doctors have given each one of them a different time line for each one of them to "live". I absolutely support Julian L. for his work, and his interests of helping others is quite diverse. TY

Hi Sylvia, Sorry, I'm used to using nursing terms & abbreviations forgeting others are unaware of our lingo. W/c = wheelchair I, honestly, can't help but wonder if I'd be far less disabled had I been medically treated decades prior. I have MCTD: Mixed Connective Tissue Disease. It's an umbrella term for 4 specific diseases: 1. SLE (System Lupus Erythematosis) 2. Schleroderma 3. RA (Rheumatoid Arthritis) 4. Polymyositis I have 2 of the lupus characteristics, also. A) Reynaud's B) Shrogrens I'm pretty sure that appropriate treatment early on would've made a difference. Hoping you're ok. ❤❤❤

From my very recent personal experience....I gave met a gentleman of 55, who was diagnosed approx. 8 years ago in Louisiana. I gave mentioned to him ...how lucky he was. I have a neighbor 70....a lady from west Texas who was diagnosed almost 2 years ago. Both have chronic pain and sensitive skin issues. They "cope" very differently. To me....'Lupus' is a very different type of disease, and affects us humans, each and every one.....QUITE differently. It just appears to me that each human body is so very different. The earlier diagnosis fir the gentleman I know....propelled him to better nutrition and slowing intake of alcohol to hardly ever using. But the disease is there. Thank you, again, my dear for your complete and thoughtful response. I notice you are a Reverend. We all need person's such as yourself. I'm an animal rights activist, and support (small amounts now) certain animal refuges in a few states in the US. Please feel free to contact me again. Im 74, and been bedridden for 5 months, due to falls, due to unfamiliar terrain, and not having the right supportive shoes. Well, bye for now,! ! ❤️

While this video mentions many times, it never tells what Lupus is. No doubt there are many who do not know, just like Julian said he didn't prior to Lucy. This is what it is: Lupus is a disease that occurs when your body's immune system attacks your own tissues and organs (autoimmune disease). Inflammation caused by lupus can affect many different body systems - including your joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart and lungs
