when you save the images, does it save two at once, one for IR and one for visible? or does it take "what you see" in terms of blending when are looking at the screen with the blend setting?

Julian, just received my HT-A1 today and although it does everything you demonstrated I wonder what is the purpose of the LED? no menu function or auto light up in dark areas if taking a normal photo? I do like it, higher res than my Flir One (Iphone) but a little bit flaky in places. Any chance of a teardown?

Hello! HT-18 is hot in the US Amazon, and sales are the first in the industry., its quality and function has been affirmed, its price is an advantage, you can also consider working with us, we provide supply,Open up a new market.Towards fortune The Freedom Trail. This infrared thermal imager combines the functions of surface temperature and real-time thermal imaging.It is professional, precision and efficient. An infrared thermal imager accurately quantifies or measures the detected heat, allowing you to not only observe thermal images, but also accurately identify and rigorously analyze hot fault areas. There are many places that can be used, basically as long as there is temperature. 1, night vision, cars, boats, hunting, etc. 2. Temperature measurement, temperature measurement during development, temperature measurement during testing, temperature measurement control during production, etc. 3, equipment maintenance, power detection, building energy-saving testing, equipment defect inspection, etc. 4, fire prevention, warehouse protection, etc. 5,Others include medical, transportation and other applications. 12:43 I was starting to get worried when you started pointing at hot diode packages with the metal tip of your mechanical pencil. colour contrast on the high/low cursors could imo have been better implemented, it didn't seem to care if it was putting white text over a pale part of the image

Yeah, how can this be so expensive?? I don't see the technology being very special. EDIT: Oh, sorry, Julian did say a bit about that, being due to the sensor having low production quantities. EDIT2: But still, annoyingly expensive :)

I don't get the prices on these things. Every smartphone today has a camera with a >10 mega pixels that mostly costs less than 10 dollar to replace. I get that these sensors are for visible light but does that make that much of a difference? If I had to guess I would say it has to be the other way around because a normal camera has to sense a far wider spectrum of wavelenghts than the "narrow" IR. I would understand if they cost twice as much but the reality is they give you the resolution of a camera in the 90s and charge you more than 10times the price. This can not be the smaller production figures alone.

I'd really love one of these or a good way of testing the temps of certain components. An IR gun can't be aimed correctly and a thermocouple doesn't make good thermal contact.

The clicking inside the camera is the calibration shutter.
@JamesPotts
@JamesPotts 5 жыл бұрын
Yep. The sensors need to periodically calibrate with an even input. I worked on a project with an IR sensor, and it couldn't have an automatic shutter (for reasons I don't recall). The result was you had to manually calibrate it every so often, by covering the sensor. Otherwise, you'd start getting fake heat signatures building up.

It clicks because of sensor being periodically calibrated. BTW. if you plan to post images somewhere make sure you processed them in graphics program first (open/save shoud do the trick) Most likely these jpegs contain both IR and visible image data... or at least flir One does that. One can get these images load into the app and get the visible light photo out of it.

I can imagine some great uses for that. Finding connections in high amperage situations that are getting warm or hot. Such as those used with electric motors. I'm also surprised that you aren't allowed to move on or the other images and align them with software in the unit. I suppose that capability will be added eventually.

I've seen a situation where an EV boat burned up connections on a battery. There were multiple batteries and a look with an IR gadget like this would have quickly shown there was a problem, saving an expensive battery and nearly burned up boat ! But even my cheap IR viewer would have probably done the same for them. This device is far more complex and capable of far more detail.

Thanks. I think you're right since another one of their IR cameras says it does video. That's OK. I was thinking though... Could design and 3D print a camera holder that could video the screen of whatever IR camera. Even one of our cheap FLIR cameras doesn't to video. The more expensive ones do. It's hardly needed but can be handy for circuit measurement work.

Maybe it's the great software or a more balanced optical/IR integration, but even with a smaller 80x60 sensor the Flir C2 seems head and shoulders above this one for $90USD more. For those of you that don't understand why this is over $400, even at cheap Chinese prices, you should know just how expensive every pixel of Thermal detection is. For the FLIR ONE, which is cellphone based, it has a resolution of 80x60. That's $200. The upgraded version, the FLIR ONE Pro, which does 160x120 pixels is $399. This does 220x160, which in terms of a Thermal camera is next to Pro level. Most cameras in that range start at $600 to $1000. SEEK at a good one for $600. You can get HD quality Thermal, but those start at well over $5000. This camera is quite a bargain. I have an older SEEK Thermal, which is quite a bargain itself at 206x156 pixels, albeit at a slow and somewhat glitch frame-rate. Thermal imaging is amazing, but it's far from cheap.

I have both the 60x60 HT-02 (~$250aud) and the 80x60 FLIR One Gen 3 (~$400aud). The HT-02 is absolute trash in comparison, even though the sensor is supposed to be a similar resolution. It's night and day. DO NOT BUY THE HT-02, it's barely usable. Get a decent one from FLIR or Seek, they're not that much more expensive. Edit: Image Comparison, both pointed at my computer (imgur.com/a/5WeqxPD ).

hmm perhaps a tad to expensive for 30k resolution at 410 USD bucks + import VAT. One thing you really gonna miss is the adjustable focus and high resolution, and If you make video's then a useable relative high fps is a must at 'least higher then the norm of 8fps. Have recently purchased a thermal camera myself and had to pay a little under 300 USD from US and too here in pricey Scandinavia but I gotta admit I have really been happy about that purchase. Its a fast Frame edition so higher then 8fps legislation I'm usually averaging a little under 20fps and a resolution at 320x240 and 78k heatpoints with a microbolometer in the spectral range of 7.5 to 14 microns and it also got adjustable focus. I love that I can see resistors heating up in makroshots (look at 2.51 and you can really sense the metalcurrentplate underneath but can also use it down the street and in the bigger perspective like some of the videos show..- kzbin.info/www/bejne/sHfWm4aObadjo6c But yeah the new one A1 is way more usefull then the first, you got send from BG Julien.. thx for the vid..

WHITEFORD PIPES HANDMADE By Michael David - Don’t feel bad. I could afford one, but don’t see any real need. It would just be another expensive toy. If you are designing your own circuits, it’s not hard to work out if your circuit sections/components will be operating within the manufacturers temperature specifications. The only time that I can see a real use for these IR cameras, is in industrial system fault finding, where the cost is nothing compared to the down time costs. For hobby use, either use one of the cheap DIY sensors, your finger, or a meter with a temperature probe (or equivalent).

Julian, when you purchase a high priced item from banggood and it doesn't arrive, in my experience, all their great service goes out the door. I ordered some phones, they didn't arrive and then banggood started asking for more and more proof - first the local post office, next local customs....they just don't stop until you give up. In my case, over $700 evaporated. I will NEVER buy from Banggood again.
