Great review! I've been looking into getting one of these for my grow tent to test the canopy temps of my plants under LED lights, as well as the hotspots on the drivers & heatsinks, but didn't feel like spending $500+ on a more expensive unit when this $200 camera does everything I need.

Cool, does it need to be a Flir brand? Could you test, if it's ok, if this thermal imager can see where the leak is in the walls? Can it see lukewarm water through walls (so you see where the pipes are)? Thanks.

I found one for 10 dollars that has a much lower resolution of 1024 pixels (32x32). I intend to use it solely to measure my reptile enclosure. Should this suffice for my needs? I don't have high expectations of course. If it does what it says it's perfect and a steal

The only thing you are going to see on the screen at 25+ yards with this unit is a spot, there will be absolutely no detail at 60X60 pixels.Take a look at the image of his dog in this video, if he didn't tell you it was a dog, you would never have known. Spend more money and get at least a 30k pixel unit, you'll hate yourself for buying an ultra-low definition unit.
