Hello Julian, it’s been two years since I had tinnitus and I must say it was not less than a roller coaster ride. It took me two years to get used to of this sound and I am at that level where I don’t even realize that I have it. Life is normal once again. And I don’t have words to thank you for helping me so much. You have replied to all my messages at the time when I was completely hopeless and suicidal. You were the only one who gave me hope that life can be normal again. You were right. Thanks for saving my life!

I had tinnitus in 1990. It came one morning after stress problems and disappeared around 4 months later. I visited a specialist at the beginning and everything was normal with my hearing. He did not give any medication or aid anything about it. I simply accepted and after a holiday trip, it completely went away. I have tinnitus again now (3,5 months) and got so focused on internet comments, it is not helping me at all. I totally agree with what you say, Julian. It is about letting it go, finding pleasure in life, enjoying everyday life. It can really heal it. Thanks for all your videos. They help me to find balance.

Hello Julian and friends, I have another healing strategy that is worth trying. I learned it from my (self help) Anxiety channel. Its for relaxing and switching off as you put it. I had my onset in 2018 after a breakdown and a week of Clonazapam. There it was. I am also dizzy from all that happened to me. I had alot on my plate to heal inside my head. I’m still working on all 3. Close your eyes and find a safe COLOR that you love. As you think on that color, just breath it in as your SAFTY color. Let it run all throughout your body for safety, calming and healing. Do this often. Mine is green... There is green everywhere and now when I see it I say I’m safe. I am still practicing this until it becomes naturally my own. Thank u Julian 🙏

Hey Julian. I’ve had tinnitus for 25yrs approx. currently dealing with a spike, but have been so fortunate to come across your videos and app. Just listening to your calming voice and your humorous analogy’s has already help me in just a few days. Xanax saved my life back at the very beginning, and I’ve needed to fall back on that drug again for now, but I’m also putting a number of your suggestions into practice. Bless you

My audiologist pushed hearing aids on me too, which I bought into, “TRT” as they call it, with white noise in the hearing aid. After 3 months, I felt the hearing aids made my tinnitus worse. Another ENT told me to take lipoflavinoids which are only vitamins. Now I discovered Julian. Im encouraged!

I had 1 session of biodynamic cráneo sacral therapy, my tinnitus got worse around 4 days later for a few days and probably either I got used to the new volume or it went down as It was before, I cannot say it for sure. Around six month later, a couple of weeks ago I had Reiki done. My tinnitus got so much worse the same night and have never reverted to the level It was before the Reiki session. I believe my tinnitus does not want other people interfering with it.

Wow! Also, as healing begins the body energy is destabilized and moving. This can also ramp up the noise. The body does not like change. This happens when I see my atlas Chiro. T ramps up but then settles. Eventually the body will begin to accept the new change and it will start to heal. But you have to be consistent with the treatments.

My tinnitus started 10 days ago randomly at night after longs hours in front of a computer screen studying for exams. I am 30 years old. The tinnitus sound reminds me of the sound these old massive tellies were making when you mute them, a high pitched dull noise. Hearing is fine, audio test better than normal as examined by an ENT. The ringing fluctuates throughout the day and also alternates from left to right ear maybe once a day. I feel more sensitive to sounds at the ear that has the ringing. As I backtrack, I remember the night I got it, I was really tense and pushing myself to finish the last bits of a narrated lecture. I have beeb pushing myself throughout the year as I am in the final year of uni. Days before it occured, I remember yawning and hearing a cracking sound on the left side of the jaw. I had some pain and I heard the same sound as now but only for a few seconds. My posture while sitting in front of the desktop computer is not the best as I am sitting slightly lower and kind of stretching my neck for long. I realise all these now. When opening my jaw wide, the pitch increases and stops completely when I close it until it starts again. Also, when pushing my tongue on the top of my mouth I get the same effect. Do you think it is reversible? Thank you, god bless you all!

The last comment was really a little bit of a light joke in the face of covid , because myself, I decided that living in fear of a virus that is going to be here to stay and we all have to get adopted to living with it in vigilance ....if I was to stress out and be fearful of it , my tinnitus will go through the roof and that is more dangerous to my entire well-being than this virus. Hello Julian. I’ve had tinnitus about 6 weeks. I recently took a week away, went to a quiet cottage no phone, no wifi, just books, quiet music and long walks. My tinnitus by the 5th day was barely noticeable. Within an hour of coming home a phone call from an extremely negative family member and tinnitus started flaring up and was spiking a couple of hours later. How do you handle situations like this when you can’t completely avoid the negative people in your life.

Too much of the ‘F’ word really began to put me off. I understand his anger at doctors and how they didn’t help him and his passion for what he does and people do see results but for me it was too much. Plus carnivore diet put my cholesterol at dangerous levels. Mediterranean anti inflammatory diet and intermittent fasting, Atlas adjustments and yoga and meditation are better ways to heal

I thought EMF’s were a problem. I tried for several months covering my router which is about 6-8 feet away in our bedroom with an emf fabric cover but noticed no difference. When I stopped using it I also noticed no difference. When I’m on my tablet for too long tip do hear the noise more. Is that because of emfs (my tablet is in an emf case by Defender Shield but there’re controversy about whether they really work or not) or is it my posture when I’m on the tablet? The only thing I did notice was neck and shoulder tightness and sugars and salt ramp up my T.

The mics on the devices actually make my T worse, but my audiologist is telling me this is the only way to heal tinnitus. I have minimal high-end hearing loss. I am a musician and cannot wear hearing aids while music-making so I don't even see the value in it. I want to know if you think people can heal WITHOUT hearing aids, even those with hearing loss?

Why don’t you have a Facebook group? And what do you make of going through a period of every other day being able to hear the tinnitus? Like it going through it being louder every other day. And…how do you get to the point you don’t hear it at night?

It sounds like you have a salicylate sensitivity. There are charts online that tell you which foods are high in them.

Is there a relationship between imbalance, wobbly and nausea with having tinnitus. My GP said I have these issues because of anxiety and stress. Help
@JulianCowanHill
@JulianCowanHill 4 жыл бұрын
Yes. When were are overwhelmed it is common to go into the freeze response where we space out, dissociate, lose our balance and have an upset digestive system. This is like an anaesthetic response that protects us from extreme danger so that when the lion jumps onto the gazelle's back it goes numb, feints and doesn't experience too much what is going on. The best thing for this is safe, hands-on contact to help ground you and process and release things. I recommend craniosacral therapy highly for this, especially a therapist who has done shock and trauma training and who understands the difference between the fight or flight and freeze response.

Four months ago my Tinnitus bumped up a significant level. Before I was able to ignore it for the most part. I have talked to two ENT doctors and they both said there could be nerve damage, or the hairs in the cochlea could be damaged and there is nothing that I can do, or any medication that will help.

Please download my app and follow the advice and techniques there: www.quietenapp.com. I hope this helps. Try not to panic. It will pass. You just need to calm yourself down, ground yourself and learn more about what is happening. It is just a stress-response. Think of tinnitus as a healthometre. The more you understand how it works the more you can settle. Best wishes Julian

Julian why do I hear a heartbeat in the left side of my head and why do my ears pop and crack all the time?
@JulianCowanHill
@JulianCowanHill 2 жыл бұрын
Because your internal sound sensitivity is high at the moment. There are always cracks and pops and heartbeats hopefully! But the brain filters these out because they are not important pieces of sound information. When you live in fight or flight or freeze everything gets super sensitive and with anxiety the auditory system can track sounds that normally it ignores. It is helpful to do things that take your mind off your ears and calm the nervous system down. Please download my app and follow the practices there: www.quietenapp.com

Nighttime is quiet and very heady - eg in the day time our body grounds us and we are distracted by many other things, but nighttime is a time for dreaming and processing stuff mentally. If you can't sleep use a body-massager to settle the system down, or do gentle yoga practices, facial massages, clenching or relaxing and this helps get out of your thinking and listening back into settling the body down. This massager is my favourite for nighttime: use it behind your neck, shoulder blades, under your calf muscles. During this stressful lockdown period, I have used it to get back to sleep again: www.homedics.co.uk/massagers/homedics-rechargeable-shiatsu-massagepillow-with-heat.html

Walking in a circle for fifteenth minutes you will get junk
@JulianCowanHill
@JulianCowanHill 4 жыл бұрын
You get what is in your mind. If there is junk that's what you get. If you can ground yourself into the simple experience of a body walking in a circle then this can bring you out of mental chit chat/distraction/delusion etc and help settle the body. When the body settles and comes out of fight or flight the alarm bells quieten down.
