This is quite relevant right now I’m 2019. I’m skipping ahead to Truckee and going back to Mammouth to fill in later. HYOH right? Love the fact you went to a carnival on your drive North!

I'm impressed with your sound wisdom in hiking "your" hike.... Being part of a tramily is cool...but in the end you always need to do whats best for you.

Smart choice about jumping ahead! You can go back and do the Sierra when you can have a more relaxed time and not worrying about dying!!!

Great trout fishing at Baum lake. By the boat launch and the water fall. It's close to Burney, CA. Burney falls is nice too.

Smart move to jump ahead. Staying on course was not worth the risk of injury (or death!) or messing up the timing of completing your hike. Be safe. The creeks still look dangerous. I guess from the snow melt? Hope your boot holds up and doesn't cause you any problems or messes up your budget by buying a new pair before you planned.

You made the right decision to leap frog the snow if you don't think it was the right thing to do I suggest reading a book called The Donner Party. Good luck on the rest of your trip but more snow ahead. Your hiking in my backyard now.

I personally would have to skip ahead and finish up my hike with the Jmt south. An ego can be a dangerous thing. There's plenty a venture ahead. Enjoy..

Wood fires save butane. I'd be bummed if my boots got burned. At least they still work. Live for your adventure.

@JulianaChauncey7 жыл бұрын
deez nits they're a 6.5, but they're working for now - I've sewn some of the melted bits, so as long as the hooks don't break off they'll be okay :)

Smart move. Love the updates. Maybe pretend that you're a TV anchor and look toward the camera more often. It's hard to watch while wondering what you're looking at. Cheers!

This is the reason why group hiking can suck --- because you get in a group and then you stop hiking your own hike and you start hiking by committee-- You need an adventurers spirit to finish this trail / playing it safe will lead you down a long boring path with boring people -- 2016 finisher-- enjoy and crush
